Hyundai Motor Philippines (HMPH) has finally brought in the much-awaited hybrid version of its premium MPV. The new Staria Hybrid starts at ₱1,999,000 and has a claimed fuel economy of 17.7 km/L.
Instead of a 2.2-liter CRDi diesel engine, the Staria Hybrid is powered by a 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline engine paired with an electric motor. The system produces a combined 245 hp and 265 Nm of torque, delivering around a third more horsepower but roughly a third less torque than the diesel version. Hyundai says hybrid-specific technologies such as e-Handling and e-Ride help improve cornering stability and ride comfort.

The new hybrid version receives subtle exterior updates, including a redesigned front grille, new 18-inch alloy wheels, and cube projection LED headlights.
More updates can be found inside with the introduction of Hyundai’s Bluelink connected car technology, making the Staria Hybrid the first Hyundai model in the Philippines to offer the feature. Through the Bluelink app, owners can remotely lock or unlock the vehicle, control the climate system, activate the lights and horn, and monitor vehicle status from their smartphone.

Other upgrades include a larger 12.3-inch infotainment display, USB Type-C charging ports for front and rear passengers, wireless smartphone charging, and an available 12-speaker Bose premium sound system on higher variants.
The seating configuration has likewise been revised. The 9-seater Premium variant now adopts a three-row layout, while the 7-seater Premium Plus features extended seat rails that allow owners to prioritize either passenger space or cargo capacity depending on their needs.

Safety has also been enhanced with Hyundai SmartSense, adding features such as Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist and Side Parking Distance Warning. Six airbags come standard across the lineup.
Prices start at ₱1,999,000 for the GL 9-Seater, while the 11-Seater is priced at ₱2,079,000. Interestingly, the GLS 9-Seater is just ₱69,000 more expensive than its diesel counterpart. Meanwhile, the range-topping Premium 9-Seater and Premium Plus 7-Seater are priced at ₱2,999,000 and ₱3,199,000, respectively.
Customers can choose from Creamy White, Abyss Black Pearl, and Shimmering Silver Metallic, with exclusive interior color schemes available on the Premium variants.
