David,
whats a good glass cleaner? ok lang ba yung mga nabibili sa groceries (kiwi, glade etc ) =)
Originally posted by theveed Not really coz household glasscleaners usually doesn't have enough cleaning power to clean road grime, in addition, ammonia smears.
Even groceries should have a small car section, grab a bottle of Turtle Wax Clearview.
david,
just had my car's windshield polished in yur shop last saturday. also replaced my blades with bosch tropical.
ok nman so far nawala yung skips/drags.
if i buy the TW clearview, do i need to clean it weekly or monthly?
ok lang din bang lagyan ko ng rain x?
before you apply rain x, make sure you have cleaned your windsheild, after applying rain x let it sit for a few hours better if overnight (as blackmagic discovered) then buff it of with newspaper until crystal clear. sometimes i spray a very lite mist of water before buffing it of.

Blades don't last over 6-8 months, whether you use them or not, you're supposed to replace them 2x a year. Preferably the whole wiper blade assembly (like Bosch, Denso, etc) and not just the rubber blade insert.
Why? The assembly is a mix tensioner in a frame that "pushes" the blade flush to the glass, if the rubber's flex and length isn't matched with the assembly, you won't get optimal "wiping" contact.
Personally, I change blades every May or June, just before the rainy season... After the rainy season, your blades are probably worn out already from the daily usage... Your call whether to replace them or not since during the dry months, you rarely use them. But don't expect them to last you 2 rainy seasons.
Think razor blades... They're exactly the same concept.

pareho po ba expiry period ng rainX and turtle wax(forgot the name pero parang rainX din ang effect)

ganon pala yun sa akin 3 years na di ko pa napaltan. makabili na nga mamaya.
i just got this pair of silicon wiper blades (forgot the brand, tinapon ko na yung box kasi). anyway, they come in different colors like blue, red, green, etc. i got the blue since my car color is blue. they work perfecly naman, no complaints so far. the material seems tougher than the rubber used in ordinary wipers, more flexible/pliant and really wipes away water from the windshield. another thing i appreciated immediately after installing this for a few days is that when i still had the original rubber wipers, as i clean the wiper blade every day there is a good amount of dirt and worn rubber on the rag, even when it was still new. ngayon when i clean the wiper blades wala halos dumi dun sa rag. could be it repels dust so it's better on the windshield, no grit to rub on the glass.
anybody tried this type of wiper blades before? share naman your comments please. oo nga pala, mine cost P600/pair complete assembly from concorde.
