Yes, they are.

July 21st, 2009 03:55 PM #53cheapest is elbow grease... as in kayod. i have this cheap rubbing compound na nabibili ng tingi sa mga auto supply. yung aking asa bote ng mayo :P.
steps ko is wash the glass with soapy water - what i used is the car wash shampoo. rinse this and dry. with mf i rubbed the glass with the rubbing compound until you can no longer see the "wiper marks." i did it twice.
sa case ko kasi yung mga nahahagod ng wiper e malinis. yung di tinatamaan ng wiper, madumi kasi tadtad ng watermarks. kung tuyo hindi kita ang watermarks. makikita lang to kapag basa ang salamin. so its best to know where your wiper borders are para mafocus mo yung rub.
i used clean newspaper for polishing the rubbing compound residue.
to test for precense of water marks, just spray or pour water on the glass. kung malinis na, dapat hindi maghahati ang tubig mo into two regions... the wiped and unwiped. kung marumi, me tendency magsheet/streak ang tubig sa parts na nahahagod ng wiper at magbead naman at mag-blur sa portions na di tinatamaan ng wiper.
tuyuin mabuti ang salamin before applying the gel. as in tuyo! apply gel like wax and remove like wax. until no haziness can be seen. mas matagal matanggal ang haziness nya compared to wax, pero compared to rainx mas madali matanggal ang haze ng rain clear.

July 21st, 2009 03:59 PM #54i believe your glass/wiper is streaking. streaking is a result of two things... old and/or dirty wiper blades and/or dirty glass.
try cleaning your glass "well" not just a simple wash and dry. kung hindi umubra or nabawasan lang, it may be due to dirty or old wiper blades.

Ako after carwash and dapat dry na yung glass. Kung may watermarks dapat matanggal muna using glass scrub or rubbing compound
Sir gamit ka ng sponge na pang dishwashing yung foam side lang and wag ung scrubbing side.. Ginamit ko yung meguiars wax applicator ko nasira sya parang natunaw dahil sa rain clear.

Nah. Got new wiper blades, newly "rubbed" windshield. I'm thinking it's just too much friction. What else would explain the "isang hagod, konting frost, unti-unting mawawala" phenomenon?
I don't experience this on my old vehicle, malamang dahil mahina na ang hatak ng wiper springs, so hindi na madiin sa windshield.
Thanks.

IMO, hindi frost yan, residual haze siya ng wax or other water repellant that you applied before. Try to clean the glass with kerosene and buff it with clean cloth or newspaper.
Kung mapapansin mo some part are clear and without haze, yan yung mga part na nabura na ng wiper blades.
