But now I'm really having second thoughts if my next car will still have dark tint. Hindi worth it yung advantages niya versus its huge disadvantage - nighttime visibility.
So sana lahat ng ibang bibili ng kotse in the future, know what you're getting into when you go for dark tints (OEM 05, CS 05, etc). Meron kasi kesyo maganda naman daw vision nila (kahit na tanders na sige push parin) pero in the end tiis ganda pala para lang sa dark tints. And no matter what brand, madilim pa rin ang 5% VLT.
Magic tints (VKool K-series, 3M BC, etc) are the best compromise when it comes to heat rejection, visibility, and an acceptable level of anonymity from outside, but hindi siya kasing linis tingnan ng pure black or clear tints. I've also tried these tints (VKool K14) and ok talaga siya kahit nighttime driving in provincial roads, and kahit super init. But di lang siya masyado maporma.
Next I want to try are clear tints (Vkool VK70) kaso medyo pricey (27k wraparound) so not sure if worth it. May mas murang Nanotech Ceramic which might be worth a look next time I change cars. Only disadvantage is kitang kita ka, but personally it's okay since it can be rectified by not leaving valuables in plain sight.
Their usual promo is only P13.5k VK windshield + OEM wraparound.
Panget nun tingnan IMO. Clear windshield mo tapos madilim sides. Also, I find it easier to drive na pantay yung tint all around (kahit madilim) kaysa yung dark yung sides tapos clear yung windshield, kasi no more need for your eyes to adjust to the different intensity of light from the windshield compared to the windows (when looking out to your side mirrors).
My take is if you have a hard time with visibility at night because of the tint then it is too dark and should be changed. Don't resort to adding lights (Especially a light bar which will blind other drivers).
On the tint hole, another option is to add two layers of tint. The first layer is a light tint then the second layer is a medium shade tint which cuts off at the side mirror portion (just enough to see the mirrors from the angle of the driver). From inside you will see the cut but from outside you will not see it and it still appears as one whole tint unless you look really closely. This is what we did on our SUVs and pick-ups before.

why not install a dark tint with good driving visibility instead?
if walang budget, tyaga na lang muna sa mga cheap na tint na hindi naman dark para hindi na kailangan butasan
