Our 2016 Jetta 1.6L TDI DSG is already scheduled for its 15k km or 12-month PMS tomorrow. Estimated cost is 11k which covers the oil (5L), oil filter, cabin filter, drain plug, and labor cost.
The per liter cost of oil (Castrol 5w30 fully synthetic) is higher than what Honda, Ford, or Subaru is charging us. It's around 1k per liter compared to the usual 600+ per liter with Honda or Ford casas. The labor cost is 3200 (VAT inclusive).

Wow, pricey. I think the oem consumables for VW are Mann Hummel which are only a little bit more expensive than their Japanese counterparts.
Labor is expensive too for a simple oil change. So much for sales' promise of service cost being close to Toyota's level.
I thought the service interval was 10Tkm?

Not bad na rin if pms once a year costs.
Just think of it like doing 2x pms a year at 5.5k each.

Am sure it will cost more than Jap counterparts. But as Egan said, intervals are longer so in the long run, the costs might be closer. Not bad for what I would call the business class brand.
Are the next 6 month intervals also free? Would be a great value compared to Jap rivals with 5Tkm/10Tkm intervals.

I do know it is Euro5 compliant but not sure about the DPF/DEF. The 1.6L TDI engine was slated for Mexico, Turkey, and other developing countries.
I am thinking that maybe the oil is more expensive than the usual 5w30 fully synthetic because VW-PH might be using the Castrol oil which meets the VW507 specifications. I have to check with VW BGC on the oil specifications they follow.
The in-between 7500 km or 6-month checkup is free of charge unless you have specific services done or parts to be replaced.

July 15th, 2017 12:39 PM #380The way VW SA's pitch it, you'd think that because of the longer service intervals, PMS costs will be cheaper than Jap cars.
i wonder, what is the basis for initially excluding mild hybrids from the green list? if the mild...
