The Tiguan used to be built in Germany. Is it now built somewhere else?

There are different models of the Tiguan. Maybe the one made in China offered more tax breaks thus better local pricing can be offered.

Yep, all gas engines for the new models. The diesels (Jetta, Golf GTS, Caddie) was welcomed warmly and sales were quite good. I guess gas-fed models with more competitive pricing will also be welcomed similarly.

I hope they do not discontinue the jetta or golf gts. I am looking at those 2 as possible replacements for my vios in January 2020. So far, we have no problems with our Caddy.

Yes, I agree... For sure kahit saan gawa yung car, maayos pa din...

Although iba pa din Metallurgy ng Japan/Germany hence the reason kung bakit madami kang makikitang parallel imports if you visit other ASEAN countries. (even if mas mura ang cars made in neighboring countries)

These models may be positioned at a higher price tier like when the Jetta 2.0L TDI DSG was initially released (around 1.4M-1.5M).
