February 24th, 2018 04:19 PM #516This is why sobrang galit sa kanila ang taxis around the world. They come in with deep pocket with the only goal of starving out competition without investing to much on equipment. Then once they gained a big chunk of the pie, they'll get another huge investment through private stock trade. Since stock price has more impact than net revenue, they have no problems burning cash just to take market share.

Not sure kung meron Uber Premium dyan (high end car)
But pwede ka din i-pick up ng Uber Premium kahit UberX hanap mo (kung mahina pasada) - happened to us twice, X4 and A5 (I'm based in SG)
So kung ayaw mo ng Mirage/Wigo, you can book a better car... Mas mahal lang...
In SG, UberFlash is the cheapest... Pero baka taxi ang dumating. (Binili ng Comfort ang 51% ng Uber,if you can't beat them, buy them!)

Still a rumour...
https://www.cnbc.com/2018/02/16/uber...t-to-grab.html
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/artic...-asia-business
In a surprising turn of events, dominant ride-hailing service Uber will exit the Southeast Asian market and sell its regional operations to rival Grab. In return, Grab will sell a stake in its company to Uber. It’s rumored that Uber will buy as much as 20% of Grab.
The agreement will be similar to the deal Uber had with Chinese ridesharing company Didi Chuxing in 2016, when the former sold its China operations to Didi in exchange for a stake in the company.
“I give Grab a lot of credit for executing well. They understand the local context better. Uber has been more about duplicating whatever they do in other parts of the world, and adapting a little bit,” said Zafar Momin, associate professor at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.Last edited by Monseratto; March 12th, 2018 at 07:46 PM.
