Travel Security in the Philippines

I have some old Filipino friends that migrated abroad that would like to visit the country this coming christmas season. Most of them married to a foreigner and are reluctant to visit philippines due to security reason. They feel that it is not safe to travel to philippines.

Can you help convince them that philippines is safe and they should not worry of their safety?

Would you know some link that promote tourism in philippines which show philippines current state of security. Thanks a lot fellow tsikoters.

nde naman nakakatakot sa phils, tignan mo yung mga tourist spots gaya ng bora, isang katerba mga foreigners..wag lang silang pumunta sa mga hotspots gaya ng basilan, mindanao etc..heheh
may mga kamag anak ako na may mga asawang puti ok lang naman sila pag dating sa manila.. nde naman natatakot..pero na cuculture shock..hehe
basta meron silang makakasama na alam pasikotsikot then they'll be ok
