Palagay ko all of the above -- magastos na, nakakatamad pa, delikado pa sa sunog, at kung kelan may hang-over ka, kailangan pa tanggalin! Hindi naman mawawala pero sana nga mabawasan ang commercialization ng pasko.

Si wifey nga who has a catering business panay ang daing.

Last year daw at this time fully-booked na sila for the whole
month of December. Ngayon marami pang vacant slots.

I guess malaking epekto yung pag lakas ng peso, humina
ang purchasing power ng OFWs. Also tumaas ang presyo
ng gasoline and LPG resulting in other commodities increasing
in price too - bread, canned goods, etc. Kahit nga hamon
    malaki daw itataas ng presyo.

So to counter these increases, syempre tipid sa lahat ng bagay
at kasama na rito ang Xmas decors.

It seems to not only be this year, but observably slowly getting less in the past years.

I think the best lighted Christmas I've seen was the years just before the Asian crisis.
