April 11th, 2010 10:26 AM #3Good way of learning. Off course, it will be self explanatory. What is dangerous is if you have installed it without finding the proper mark for balancing the pressure plate and clutch disc in relation to the flywheel.
Most mechanics succeed in installing it but seldom do they know that there is a mark for proper installation in accordance to it's design or blueprint.
This where hiring someone who understands the book payoffs. It might appear that there is no problem; however, this is the reason why most cars even if properly maintained by a mechanic slowly moves away from it's original handling.
Further, analyzers became a must in order to restore a vehicle to it's original state. Sad to say, some mechanics feel that they are more capable of analyzing a trouble especially if the owner gave them the authority to alter it.
In short, read the books before you start repairing especially on Audi's; Porsche, BMW's and Volkswagen. It might appear simple but this is the reason why all vehicle manuals state's or advice, to bring it to an authorized dealer or Mechanic. Sad to say even the dealers cannot update their Mechanic's learning; having been caught in the rush of new Models coming.
Kaya ang Toyota sa U.S. pumalpak. It's the absence of proper training that jeopardize their whole operation. People think that repair can be done by a simple mechanic or even an experienced one. The truth is; a good mechanic should be Born cause it cannot be absorbed by those who were not born being one even if he reads and read. Salin salin lahi kaya mas magaling ang pinanganak na mekaniko because there is some spirits guiding them which is hard to explain.

technicians are not born as you suggested. it is the people with the passion, knowledge, diagnostic skills, repair skills from proper training. this is not luck. i had a co-worker once who had a rabbit's foot in his toolbox for goodluck. but so far he had 60 percent screw ups than good. today's cars need technicians, not mechanics, properly trained and equipped. not gypsies who look at the crystal ball and tell fortunes
as an aside, in the olden days, anyone who does not move 'ala luksa during Holy Week, especially...
