rebuild transmission?

'96 Galant, Manual, 2.0 SOHC 4g63

2nd hand ko syang nabili and 2 yrs na syang nasa akin, wala naman syang problem, masarap idrive, mabilis ang reaction ng makina, aside lang sa konting basa ng oil yung pang ilalim nya when i acquired it. overall, satisfied ako sa performance nya as a galant until lately pansin ko may parang grinding / humming sound pag 2nd gear and up.

so i brought it to a trusted mechanic and my car was serviced for change gear oil, bothering kasi halos 0.5 liter lang yung nakuhang langis and parang chocolate na yung consistency nya. i drove it home and everything seemed okay.
the next day, tagas yung gear oil sa garahe, ibiniyahe ko pabalik sa mechanic but that time I felt something new, parang 'sliding clutch' ko, nagshoot ung rev pataas pero naiiwan speed nung sasakyan...

i told the mechanic about the leak and the 'sliding clutch' feel. after ng mga disccussion.. i agreed na ibaba yung transmission para makita din yung clutch parts.

eto ang mga pinalitan/ginawa after, output shaft/axle seals, rear main seal, refaced flywheel, replaced clutch lining, replaced pressure plate and changed gear oil (ulet)... i was there 9am and natapos sila ng mga ~4pm... it was okay when we test drive pero may grinding sound parin... sabi ng mechanic, try lang daw gamitin muna kasi baka di pa daw napasok ng bagong oil yung mga parts, eventually and hopefully it will be gone daw if not, bubuksan yung transmission para makita yung bearing ng gears baka daw yung ang maingay...

almost 3 weeks ko na syang ginagamit pero di parin nawawala yung parang grinding / humming noise kapag sa 2nd gear pataas...
and still there is this 'sliding clutch' na feel...
eto pa, one time napa engine break ako sa first gear, nag di-disengage yung kambyo, sinubukan ko mag engine break sa ibang gears pero sa 1st gear lang sya bumibitaw.


Question:
1. Napalitan na yung clutch lining and pressure plate and refaced na flywheel, bago gear oil, posible ba na yung transmission ang mag cause ng 'sliding'?
2. Should i go for rebuilding the transmission?

1. Was the clutch assembly "clean" before re-assembly? Even the slightest drop of oil or grease will make that slip. Remember that the clutch operates with friction being its principle.

2. You should have went ahead and rebuilt the transmission when your mechanic brought it down for clutch replacement. Para isang job nalang, you could've saved on labor costs, and time also. The humming noise comes from the transmission bearings, the lack or absence of proper lubricant damaged them. Other things that need to be replaced are the synchronizers, these guys permit the smooth shifting, and the synchronizer locks, these guys lock the gears in place so they do no jump out.

Way I see it, your mechanic is either not that experienced, or is trying to pull a fast one on you.

hindi kayo nagpalit ng release bearing? baka yun ang maingay na grinding noise

na-resolved na pala yung slide ng clutch ko, kapit na ulet yung lining. found a good mechanic and he replaced the clutch master cylinder using a repair kit!!!

now i think i have do deal with the grinding noise, looks like the synchronizers are the culprit. kasi pumipitik sa neutral kapag matagal akong nasa 1st gear... 2nd to 5th and R are fine.
