Presumably since the RPM will be higher compared when OD is on.

How to reach 6K rpm in a 4AT? The manual says that #2 shift should not exceed 80kph.

Car is NA at 155hp * 6K rpm.

I reach 6k rpm all the time with my 4AT car. Just use the manual override function - either put it in 2 or use the manual mode and select second gear.

    What car is this?

Ford Escape 2.3L. Is it safe to put it in 2 and exceed 80kph?

I tried to floor the accelerator while in D but it just briefly reached 5K rpm for 1 second and upshifted.

As long as your car is in good shape, it's perfectly fine to rev your engine to its redline every now and then.

most auto-trannys have pre-set shift points. Some have economy and power buttons (like mitsu's). Know your cars AT shifting points so you don't unneccessarily over-rev your engine. Also check the rpm when your torque converter locks up - this is when you have a speed gain of say from 60 kph to 80 kph but your rpm remains pegged at 2,000rpm - that's your torque converter locking up (wala nang slippage) delivering additional speed without engine having to rev up higher (this was on my old D16Y8 AT).

Drive it right, an AT doesn't necessarily mean higher fuel consumption.
