just a lil info i got from my A/T mechanic who was trained and came from Canada...
he says that the ratio of a full tranny turn... as compared to a push of power for an A/T car is 3:1 (meaning... the tranny has to turn 3 times.. in order for a car to have 1 push of power)... *or something to that extent*
on an M/T car... the ratio is 1:1...
just a lil food for thought...

i haven't experienced BMWs steptronic yet, but if it's as good as they claim and all A/Ts were built that way, i'd go for the A/T ...
but as it is ... manual tranny pa rin ako.

i don't think i'd want a semi-automatic tranny controlled by paddles... parang napaka-video game naman nun! i think i'd prefer the positive action of a crisp-shifting, floor-mounted, clutch-actuated, manual shifter :P

personally, i'd think thrice, before buying that toyota brand new rack and pinion, to fix my 2003...
