    Hi mga sir, allow me to repost my query in the innova thread, since wala dun ata na may knowledge or experience re: my problem.

    Good day mga sir! Kabibili lang po namin ng cousin ko ng Innova E Dsl A/T, released last month lang.. question lang about the A/T. Normal ba na pag nasa 4th gear na sya, let's say cruising at 100kmh, exactly 2k rpm sya diba? then, pag binitawan mo yung accelerator, bababa sya ng mga 1850-1900rpm which i think is normal. now, the problem is, pag resume mo ng apak ng accelerator, nagsslide muna sya momentarily, like, .5-1 second, before sya bumalik sa supposed rpm nya. for example, cruising again at 100kmh at 2k rpm, bitaw saglit sa acclerator, mga .5 second lang, then apak ulit, diba dapat babalik lang sya sa around 2k rpm (except pag malalim talaga ang apak, which will prompt it to downshift to 3rd gear)? pero ang nangyayari, nagsslide muna sya so tataas muna yung rpm to around 2.5- 2.8k rpm before bumalik sa 2k. and you will feel na hindi pa talaga sya fully engaged during that brief moment, since mararamdaman mo slightly sumisipa sya pagbalik ng 2k. i've driven several type of cars na in my lifetime, whethere manual or automatic, crdi diesel or conventional diesel or gas pero di ko pa na experience sa ibang sasakyan yung ganto. to all innova a/t owners, meron na po ba kayong similar experiences tulad nitong akin? i feel that this is out of the ordinary, and wag naman sana may damage yung A/T. im planning na ipasok sya sa casa next month unless marami makaka testify that this is really normal sa innova A/T.

    the way you described it ay parang yung torque converter lock-up function, at 100 kph ay naka lock-up na torque converter pag bitaw mo ng gas mag u-unlock uli ang tcc (torque converter lock-up) then pag tapak mo uli gas hindi naman agag agad na mag lo-lock-up ang torque converter so medyo tataas muna rpm at saka uli bababa pag nag lock-up uli. pwede mo pa monitor sa scanner live data yan during the test drive.

    actually this makes much sense. parang ganun talaga pakiramdam nya. parang pag naka manual eh pag apak mo ng gas hindi mo fully engaged agad ang clutch. malaman ko pag nadala na talaga sa casa.

    sir t2erns, yang dinedescribe mo po bang situation ay normal, o possible defect sa tranny, or madaling adjustment lang?

    sa tingin normal lang yan lalo sa mga modern cars ngayon, lalo't ngayon di na cable operated ang gas pedal...even yun Tucson na ginagamit ko dito sa office, ganyan din ang feeling ko nung 1st time ko maidrive, from idle then bigla mong irerev parang delay (ng miliseconds lang naman) umangat yung rpm...saka on a open highway lalo na pagbigla mong bibirahin yung accelarator parang supot muna yung hatak at the first few seconds then yun nga bigla na lang sisibat natatangay/napapasandal bigla yung passenger ko e hahahaha!

    actually kung hindi excessive and difference ay considered normal lang. but kung masyado na malaki ang difference ay hindi na normal.
    kung walng other malfunctioning electrical/ electronic components or other parts, unfortunately walang adjustment yan.

    except kung makikita ng manufacturer na may problema ang pag kaka design ng controller mag iisue sila ng TSB (technical service bulletin) para ma i-reflash ang computer (function ng controller ang tcc engagement and dis engagement base on some trans parameters).
