Just wondering coz i just had mine totally removed and replaced with a new silicone oil. I used GMB and was able to fill 5 vials, as in nag-umapaw. What could be wrong?

Wait for afrasay or you could PM him directly.

Ask ko lang sir, what does this silicone oil do to the fan?

AFAIK, the silicone oil is the main agent inside the fan clutch that promotes the engagement of the fan on high temperature. When your vehicle's temperature is cooler, the silicone oil is soft, propeller turns on a freewheel manner. At high temperature, silicone oil hardens, causing the fan to grip so it goes along at the same speed with the engine's rpm. So the higher your rev is, the faster the fan turns. You would notice it coz it produces a vacuum cleaner-like noise. So basically, as the silicone oil hardens during high temp, the fan engages otherwise, the oil softens in cold temperature and the fan dis-engages.

ung oil is for the moving parts inside that fan...

    thanx!

silicone oil tawag dun, it is sold in vials. mga P65 ang isa. pinapalitan pag notice mo na parang hindi na masyadong kumakagat ang fan mo during engagement. Or if your vehicle tends to overheat, that's one of the things you must check.

problema ko is, i dont know kung how many vials needed to totally replace the silicone oil in the fan clutch. kasi mukhang nasobrahan yata yung sakin eh, kasi palagi nalang naka-engage ang fan kahit malamig ang engine temp. ang ingay. siguro wala nang magalawan ang mga moving parts inside the fan clutch dahil punung-puno na ng oil

sorry, ha, kasi my father, sinusumpa ung free-wheeling na clutchfan, kay pinafix nya ung sa old delica ko...(siyempre sulsol ng mga mekaniko-mekanikohan)...now kasi my ride is a liteace 2c-t ang makina, e good namang di fixed ung clutch fan...

    thanx!

yan palagi remedyo ng mga mekaniko, kase tamad sila maghanap ng real cause. pag naka-fix kase, kawawa ang engine at fan mo dahil palaging naka engaged, tapos matagal pa mag warm up. resulta, poor fuel efficiency at maingay.

binubuksan lang yung fan clutch, split it into two then lagyan mo yun ng silicone oil. mahirap pag sealed type coz hindi pwedeng buksan, kelangan palitan talaga ng bago ang whole clutch. malalaman mo na engaged na ang fan when it reaches the certain temp, mga 40-50%, then the fan starts to turn producing loud noise pag ni-rev mo. tapos tatahimik ulit sya pag baba ng temp
