October 19th, 2008 04:26 PM #64thehitman777, on some cars the tranny does not have an oil pan to drop the filter. no need to change the plug either.
17M, yes it's backward compatible. it also meets honda requirements for even the new transmissions.
promdiboy, hmmm... i'm not positive... easier for us if you bring it over so we can check it out

Sir, have a 96 Accord as well. so any brand of ATF other than Honda ATF-Z1 is fine right? Having costly ATF changes since.
Thank you.

Always use Honda fluid for honda cars. Ok lang engine oil and coolant brake fluid. for transmission and power steering use Honda exclusively to avoid expensive repairs.

Ah ok. May mga nakita ako lately na nagcoconform sa ATF-Z1 standard. Mga pahabol na siguro to since ATF -DW1 na pumalit para sa mga bago.
Thank you.

May 13th, 2015 08:01 AM #70yes, it happened to my FD before. I used a non-honda fluid on the power steering. It leaked. Honda told me it was the cause (i forgot now exactly why but it had something to do to with the chemical components of the fluid i used) and they quoted me an astronomical amount for replacing the hoses and other parts.
By the looks of it (pun intended), not too long.
