September 14th, 2003 08:09 AM #181the government gave the car manufacturers 45 day grace period when GMA signed it into law. The grace period ends Oct. 15. meaning the value based excise tax law takes effect Oct. 15. But Last I heard it's been extended to 60 days, dunno if its 60 days from the date of signing or 60 days from Oct. 15.

September 14th, 2003 01:22 PM #184if Honda doesnt increase the manufacturer's price for the VTI-L due to forex fluctuations, it could be had for around 960T. But you may not be on top for long, because they might bring in the V6 or perhaps the Acura TL to cater to the buyers (enough of them not to be ignored) who's always had a 1.5M budget.

hmmm....
I don't want to sound kill-joy pero, but with the Peso's performance right now, after the government's grace period for the auto dealers, whatever price reduction the new excise tax law will bring on the sedan prices, parang babalik din sa dati na price levels/range because nga of the devaluation of the peso. Since the peso will devaluate, it's obvious that dealers have to adjust prices too.
I hope I'm wrong.
IMHO lang po.
