You can thank the boys from the Bases Conversion and Development for that. They prevented the completion of the roadway in front of SM AURA which would have eased the traffic.

BGC already have too many stoplights that cause cars to move slowly through the area. You end up driving only one to two blocks before encountering another red stoplight. And that does not yet include the traffic along the main roads.

Kinda backward for a CBD that was designed fairly recently. How they designed the roads and layouts are such traffic flow stoppers.

I heard from my office mate that it is too crowded. I'll check it out when the crowd grows thin... if that will happen?

My curiosity got the best of me.

We went there with some minor traffic encountered along the way, parked and went around. Nothing special to do and so many people, so after 15 mins, we left the place. Skypark is nice though. A bit of greenery in a concrete structure.

However, I felt that the building is badly designed. The entrance of the parking crosses the exit from the parking, which causes traffic. In the parking, if somebody tries to park in the first few slots, it will create a long traffic from the entrance as there is no alternate route to take. I only saw 2 elevators, although wide, they were operating very slowly. I expect heavy traffic once that gets up and running.

They designed the road and intersections like city blocks resulting in the need for traffic lights every intersection. The area lacks any sort of main road network to help move cars through the entire area quickly. Actually it used to have it but the said main road network are not anymore being used as intended.

    Example:
    - McKinley Road and Mckinley Parkway is not anymore directly accessible to each other without a major traffic filled detour through 5th Ave.
    - 32nd and 5th Ave are full of stop lights which cycle rather slowly... takes at least 15 minutes to travel a distance that used to take less than five minutes before.
    - lack of roads that bypass the entire BGC commerical area causes increase in car traffic that could have been avoided.
    - lack of more access roads to enter/exit the BGC area creates narrow points of congestion at peak traffic times.
    - The BGC still have many roads that are closed to the public. These should be opened to help bypass traffic from overloaded roads while major re-planning is done to fix the above mentioned problems.

Agree... and they should train their traffic enforcers in PROPER traffic management, wag lang sila lagi mag aangas at idisplay ang mga m4a1 at shotgun nila.. pansin ko lang kasi pag sila nagta traffic lalong tuma trafik... style nila iniipon lahat hanggang sa humaba na ang pila sa ibang lanes..
