May cavitex at slex din ako both windshield nakadikit. Gitna yung slex sa lower right naman cavitex. Dati malayo palang mag oopen agad barrier sa cavitex. Ngayong may slex rfid na may delay napapa full stop talaga ako kasi nag iinvalid tag. Kanina lang 2x nag prompt invalid tag before nag open. Sa slex naman 100% hit rate pa naman 4/4. C5, alabang, at filinvest ko pa lang na try.
My windshield RFID installed a couple of months back has gone from bad, to worse! Now my hit rate is close to 0%. When I look around the toll booths ETC lanes always have long lines. Many like me need to hand over the card to pay. It really defeats the purpose of electronic toll collection. ETC is suppose to remove human intervention. And make transactions quick and accurate. When E-pass was introduced many years back, you can go thru tollbooths above 50 kph. At that time, there was only one security guard watching and no barriers. Queues in E-pass lanes were unheard of. I bought the 1st Gen E-pass so that I don't have to line up, keep money/change with me at all times and to avoid opening my window to expose myself to the elements. Now, with the RFID, it is common to be in a queue, and I almost always have to open my window to hand over my card.
Pardon the rant, but does anyone know if the RFID is going to get better?
Heard the most stupid reasoning of the RFID failures yesterday.
To my surprise nabasa siya sa northbound direction. Will try next week sa windshield ulit ng Everest with BC35 tints.
Could be na may sariling power source yung epass while yung RFID passive lang siya?
Dami na miss ng RFID sticker ko. Mayrun kaya sila attempt to reconcile those missed reads ng sensor nila?
We had a headlight rfid before. It probably worked 1/10 times. We cut the tint na lang so now its a lot better. RFID has actually been working well except for the skyway northbound lane (second set, rightmost) that youre forced to take coming from Alabang.

Ok, seems to be the solution for the failing RFIDs installed in the headlights is to have them installed in the windshield. I'll have them replaced then. Hassle, it has failed me 5 out of 6 times since having them replaced last Wednesday. I was legitimately surprised that it worked that one time. Perhaps the chrome bumper is negatively impacting it, or that my car is a sedan. Who knows??
Going home, I just line up in the Cash lane because it's faster *sigh*
So the windshield RFIDs are already out of stock in most areas. They also don't have the readers anymore so they can't check if the RFID is really working or not. Those in the installation site could also not answer why the headlight RFID is failing. The Bicutan office is also a mess. I wasn't able to argue anymore why the headlight RFIDs are not working as expected due to time constraints.
A friend of mine who has his rfid affixed on his headlight doesn't experience the problems most do here. His headlight rfid is affixed facing up. Mine, btw, is in my windshield & hasn't given me problems since I had it for a month (& with a lot of usage, using SLEX 2x a day 6 days a week. One thing i noticed, though, with the ETC system, parang delayed ang updating ng balance or something. It seems that I don't get charged sometimes.
sa akin batting average ko is around 80 - 90%, RFID installed on headlight, normal route is Bicutan to Makati and back
Windshield mount RFID is out of stock already. Got a headlight mount for my other car instead. It seems to read better than my windshield mount. So far 100% hit rate. Problem is, it's easy to tamper/remove. How do we prevent this?
