Based on previous experience, I want to have as little to do with LTO as possible. This is why I allow dealers to process my registration for new cars, and AAP for my older cars. I doubt their procedures have changed, but the LTO has. So I'm pinning most of the problems more on LTO.

Last week, my sales agent briefed me that the waiting time for the OR/CR and/or plates is four weeks, but I get to drive it around for a week. I signed a waiver that if I get caught, I would have to pay for both my fine as well as the dealer's. So if I get a call from the dealer before the four weeks is over, then hallelujah. If not, then I'll make kulit then raise hell.

BTW, until I got my last car in 2012, I could specify the last number on the plate. Ngayon daw, di na pwede. BUT, if the plate arrives and you simply must have another last number, you can return it and pay P3,000 to have it changed daw. Tutoo ba ito?

ang hirap naman pala, kumuha ka ng sasakyan pero di magamit kahit man lang sa 7-day window. Di na rin pala uubra ang sales invoice.

^you can register the car yourself that way you are in full control of the registration process

If you let the dealership accomplish the registration process the waiting time will be cumulative (dealership batch processing + LTO batch processing)

I wish I could, if I had the time and patience. Unfortunately my job prevents me from doing so.

^a personal errand boy is more controllable than a dealers messenger

The dealership simply maximize their profit with sheer volume thats why the only way to expedite car registration is to bypass the bulk processing practiced there

i got my unit yesterday evening, drove it coming to work at around 2 AM as i had no choice but to use it eventhough wala pa OR/CR, so this morning problemado na baka matyempuhan ng LTO. my agent said, 2-3 weeks pa daw. sabi ko kaya nga ako kumuha ng sasakyan dahil risky ang oras ng pasok ko which is 3 AM. paglabas ko kanina, walang masakyan na tricycle palabas ng Novaliches Bayan. Sana naman walang LTO personnel pag oras ng uwian ko. I ask my agent kung pwede akong humingi ng TRANSMITTAL COPY nila, not sure then if my bearing to pag nahuli ka

^dont believe that crap of a paper the dealership gives every car buyer

No registration, no travel..insist on the OR and CR copy

When you figure in an accident the first thing a traffic investigator will ask from you is the OR and CR. If you cant produce one you are at a disadvantage

And the worst thing that could happen to you is that the insurance wont honor your claim

After exactly ONE MONTH and TWO DAYS from the day of delivery, I have finally received the most anticipated document of my life. Moreso than my birth certificate, college diploma or marriage license. The most precious and sought after pieces of ****, I mean paper, the mahiwagang OR and CR.
I can finally use my vehicle legally. No more nervousness when driving outside. No more avoiding eye contact with traffic enforcers. No more limiting the use to the barest minimum. I am free!!! Freeedoooommmm!!! My brother is not a pig! Walang himala!
To my dealership who gave me ONLY 32 days of constant worry, anticipation and hypertension, tang you, tang you very much. Pati na rin tatay, nanay, lolo at lola ninyo, paki sabi tang you all. From the bottom of my puwet, tang you very much.
To the brilliant LTO, who have somehow made the simplest government function over two pieces of paper into a nightmare for millions, may the good Lord take you and keep you. Now na.
I would like to thank the academy, my pay-rents, my fans and supporters for this magnanimous award.
    I, thank you. Mabuhey!
