don't forget that it also has to be "approved by the DTI"

will the arresting officer know whether it's stock or a mod? pano kung limited/special edition with different mags, steering wheel, spoiler, etc? alam nya na it comes as stock? even for older models? i doubt

so basically, the govt is discouraging car owners from doing anything to their cars.

    All stock lahat?

All DOT street legal standard tulad sa ibang bansa?

Para maganda tingnan ang mga motorways natin?

is that the LTO's vision?

wala na ang mga BRANDLESS GENERIC BACKYARD ASSEMBLED STAINLESS PIECES OF 3RD WORLD SCRAP METAL ON WHEELS.

pagkaintindi ko jan --- leave it stock. If u wana change anything, magpaalam ka muna.

How about a shift knob? Recaro or Bride seats? ipapaalam ko lahat yan?

How about the head unit? speakers?

    ---

i understand the change color, change motor thing...

Tapos bawat palit may permit fee?

    * For carrying more passenger other than the normal seating capacity, a penalty of P1,000/per passenger.
    * For defective accessories such as headlight, tail light, signal light, brake light, side mirror and horn a fine of P1,000 for the violators. - agree with a previous poster, existing na 'to. pero ba't ang dami mo pa ring makikitang naka "euro" -- bulag ang isang ilaw, etc., etc.
    * For modifying any part of the original design of a private vehicle without approval of LTO and the DTI a fine of P2,000.
    * Wearing of slippers fine of P500 for the first offense, P700 for the 2nd offense and P1,000 for the 3rd offense and revocation of driver’s license. - for private drivers? for what?
    * Installation of HID headlight 4300K and up color temperature a fine of P5000. - I guess retrofitting ang tinutukoy nila. should fall under sa category nung modification rules nila.
    * Installation Open free flow exhaust pipe other than the original exhaust pipe a fine of P3000. - should be detailed in their modification rules too.

katulad nito: * Wearing of slippers fine of P500 for the first offense, P700 for the 2nd offense and P1,000 for the 3rd offense and revocation of driver’s license.

These new "offenses" should be covered by law since they impose penalties. A mere administrative order would not suffice to make them effective.

As to the propensity of our government to avoid anti-poor laws, that's exactly why the poor are increasing in this country.

With regards to the HID thing, don't the new cars come with HIDs as standard 4300K? I think it would be better if they went after those with improper aim and conversion.

As for modifying the vehicles, what about us 4x4 enthusiasts who have to modify our stock vehicles so that we can enjoy our hobby / sport? Most of the accessories and mods we put on are allowed in other more advanced countries like the US and Australia so why not here?

Like some of you said, there are plenty of loopholes found in the new "laws" and lack of enforcement for the existing ones. All are open to interpretation which is how the crocs make their living.
