Tinatahak ko araw araw yung EDSA. As usual, marami pa rin siraulong hindi sumusunod nito. It's either maski bus ginigitgit sila or patuloy silang binubully ng ibang kotse. Lalo na pag rush hour. Kaya as much as I can, iniiwasan ko nalang bumabad sa lane nila.

March 13th, 2012 10:02 PM #15Anyone have further experiences on this?
For one, they they do not stick to the center. Halos lagi sila nasa tabi (left / right). Makes life on the innermost / 3rd lane difficult.
Tapos ambagal pa nila magpatakbo, it slows traffic to a crawl on the 2nd lane (when it isn't super congested already).
Prevents higher speed runs along EDSA because of the chance one of these people veer off the lane and try something crazy.
To disciplined motorcycle drivers, this does not apply to you in case you think I'm trying to pick a fight.Last edited by mda; March 13th, 2012 at 10:05 PM.

MC riders are really kawawa on that lane. Most private vehicles hogs that lane talaga, even i do even before MC lane was implemented.

I agree with all of you guys. Those were my thoughts exactly, too. What was MMDA Chair Francis Tolentino thinking when he designated the "middle" lane (in EDSA and similar thoroughfares) as the Motorcycle Lane?
In Malaysia, their motorcycle lane is positioned at the leftmost lane of the road (Motorcycle lane - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia). Furthermore, I believe it is also exclusive to motorcycles only, similar to the bicycle lane implemented in Marikina. [In Quezon Circle, the innermost lane was also designated as a bicycle lane some years ago, but I don't think that it's being implemented anymore.]
How can we get this message across to Mr. Tolentino of the MMDA?

As a former rider myself, we don't stay dead center on a lane because that's where oil, grease, coolant, sand and other road hazards collect. We usually stay in an area of the lane where it is regularly rolled on by four-wheeled vehicles which ultimately provides better traction. The next rider behind or in front would then occupy the opposite side, following a staggered formation.

Agree. I BEG riders to stay on their lane or if overtaking sana wag mag squeeze in between two cars.
