Along the way, since mabait nga, na-bless na naman at nabiyayaan ng kotse.

It's been argued repeatedly in the past, but it seems House Bill 7052 principally authored by Rep. Narciso D. Santiago III will be taking this issue to the next level.

No parking space, no car registration - solon

This is sure to cause a lot of arguments to erupt, something like "it's so anti-poor" versus "discipline first." I personally think what should happen is that a compromise can be done, something like where the local government (say mayor with the help of the barangay captain and city planner/engineer) can identify paid parking areas for the benefit of car owners who can't afford to have a house with a garage. Car owners can then apply for a monthly or yearly plan where they lease the parking slot. This could also help organize streets so that parkign would only be on one side to ensure sufficient space for vehicles passing through. This would also ensure that driveways are spared from being blocked by unscrupulous people.

I myself would welcome something like that. I'd be willing to pay a reasonable amount, say Php 1,000 to 1,500/month (reserved parking in a place like RCBC Plaza costs Php3,200/month but it's covered and has a semblance of security) to have my reserved slot. This will also help alleviate fights resulting from the usual "agawan" that happens a lot of times when car owners jockey for position for parking slots.

    Just my dos sentimos.

100% agree ako dito brader. then, in the fight between "proo poor" and "pro discipline", i think the later should prevail. to me, being poor is no excuse to have no discipline.

It's plain common sense that if you can't afford to have a place to park your car without inconveniencing others, then, you really can't afford owning a car.

There are just too many irresponsible car owners who encroach on other people's or public properties. Manila with a its old and narrow road network should more strictly enforce existing laws against parking in public roads.

law makers can push this down our throats. Like going unleaded, the use of Ethanol and Biodiesel.

I agree to this, but not 100% agree.

the only difference is that sa case ng unleaded at ethanol, yung mga oil companies lang ang pwersahin, then tayo consumers, wala na option. while kung yung parking, sino manghuhuli? AFAIK, dati nang bawal ang parking sa major thoroughfare, but here sa bacoor, everyday na daan ko, yung natl road where yung municipal hall is, (evangelista yata, not sure) pinaganda yung road, new asphalt, ganda with matching road markings pa, tapos konting widening at reclaim nung sides, and made it 2 lanes each sides, pero what for? para lang parking din ng mga kotse nila. so in the end, 1 lane each pa din ang gamit. So, what i can see here, is they can pass that another law, kahit redundant na yang law bout parking, pero in the end, walang maasahan na mag enforce nyan.
