This is my observation:
I was able to sit in while my friend was learning how to drive.
1. The driving school gave the option of not obtaining a student permit and go straight to having a non-pro drivers license at a cost of P6K. (in short mag lagay na lang daw so hindi na kailangan mag test written and actual).
2. Driving school would rather start with actual driving then lecture first then actual driving. I asked my friend, so how did they teach him the rules of the road? He replied, during the driving itself. I did observe him driving with the instructor, sadly, the instructor was focus on how to balance clutch and gas without really focusing on laws. I observed 5x that when turning right to go onto a street, the instructor didnt tell my friend to stop at the intersection and look both left and right to make sure its clear before turning. (This was my friends 2nd session)
3. Where do you get a driver license manual/law in driving? Not from LTO? From drivers schools (at a fee), so my question is, how do people know which is right, which is wrong in driving?
So for me, I would say only 25% of drivers in the Philippines would really pass a drivers exam of its equivalent international standard and not Philippine Standard.
Some of our roads markings are even wrong. Imagine a two way road, the marking divider is single white broken. that marking should be either single yellow broken that means both sides can pass if clear not single white broken meaning its a two lane same direction road.Last edited by av8or5; July 6th, 2010 at 12:21 PM.
