"Why only buses? Why not private vehicles too?"
Because private vehicles and buses are never, ever equal. Buses occupy a lot of road space. Buses stop often and anywhere many times. Buses are driven almost entirely by idiots. Buses cause massive pollution. Buses cause more accidents and deaths.

Why is the DOTC coming up with this bizzare scheme? Because of goverment's failure to manage and regulate the PUV sector. If the issuance of professional license is strictly adhere to, do you think we would have a lot of idiot PUV drivers?

Personally I don't find it weird. Putting a speed limiter on the bus is a sure way to make them keep to proper speeds. It's used in other countries. Even Singapore has a similar system for trucks/vans but in their system, if you exceed the speedlimit, a yellow light on the roof starts to blink on/off, calling for cops to arrest you.

Nice information. But it seems that the SG bus system works because they have a good BRT system that has stop points, and schedules.

Stop points and schedules are essential to any bus system to work properly...

The MRT on EDSA was supposed to be an elevated BRT system. But it was turned down simply because the price tag was too low (not enough kick back for the people approving it).

Another business na naman ng goverment, mas ok siguro kung magbuo sila task force na magdisiplina sa mga bus drivers, kung sino ang magpapasaway na bus driver bugbugin na lang, baka sakaling tumino mga bus driver sa atin
