I have the same awe and surprise as you guys... and I am trying to get more information about this "feat". Kaya lang MNTC's website is useless. However, I did send MNTC an email requesting for them to confirm the claim.
As I was doing my research on this, I came across another "claim to fame" but on the south side:
-----------------------------
"The highest recorded speed on Skyway (and The Philippines) is 320 km/h by a modified Nissan Skyline GT-R by local tuning shop Autoplus Sportzentrum. The record was then followed by a Lamborghini Murciélago. (then followed by a Ford GT in NLEx*)"
Wikipedia site
*I guess they haven't come across the BMW 650i's 364KPH record.

Unfortunately, Skyway's website is under construction so zero info on them.Last edited by albert_b; April 25th, 2008 at 12:44 PM.

364 kph? ano kaya pakiramdam nyan kung ikaw ang driver and passenger? siguro yung b*y*g ko nasa noo o lalamunan ko na.
fastest speed that i had with NLEX is 200 kph on board by Zuk 1000 cc. Pero kapiraso lang. Nag-try lang ako dun sa stretch nung bridge going to San Fernando.
on car, my fastest was 115 kph.

Was it a stock BMW? Because the car is limited to 250 km/h or 155mph, the Ferrari Enzo tops out at 362km/h or 225 mph. Even if he started at 120km/h the hardest part is getting the car to actually reach that 364km/h as the car doesn't have the aerodynamics to keep it stable at that speed, at some point it will hit a wall of air.

April 26th, 2008 12:07 AM #18you may want to visit the wiki webpage again ... now it is saying
The highest speed recorded here is 364 km/h by a Sarao Jeep on April 17, 2008 along the stretch of San Fernando to Pulilan exit.

Yeah, I remember the German carmakers' "gentleman's agreement" restricting the top speed of their cars to 250 km/h or 155 mph. Only Porsche breaks this "rule" on a regular basis, their cars are basically unrestricted.
Even an E46 BMW M3 CSL will struggle to break 171 mph (275 km/h) with the limiter removed.
You would need a McLaren F1 to hit that kind of speed. When it broke the world speed record sometime in the 1990s it was clocked doing 394+ km/h on a really long oval.
I'm beginning to smell a hoax here.
In any case...galit ata talaga sya sa gasolina.Last edited by Type 100; April 26th, 2008 at 12:19 AM.

Choice I would have made as well.
