i just noticed that the birth date on my license is 1 day off, april 24th instead of 25th.
How do I go about having this fixed? Do I just bring a copy of my birth cert. to the LTO? And can I have this fixed way before I'm due for renewal?
Salamat sa makakasagot.

I think you should provide them with the NSO-certified birth certificate and they will correct the data for you....

in addition sa birth certificate, i think you should also bring affidavit of discrepancy stating the error... sa lto website, i think it will fall under revision of records.
pwede paayos yan before renewal. although regarding sa venue, ang alam ko dapat kung saan ka originally nag apply for license... hindi pwede sa renewal centers as these offices do not fix errors in entries AFAIK.

January 20th, 2012 05:17 PM #117Something similar happened to me. My birthday was correct on my license. But the renewal date was not, which on the license was a couple of months earlier than my birthday. Figure that out. That meant that I would have to pay a surcharge everytime I renewed my license if I renewed based on my birthday and not the renewal date. In order to correct this rather stupid encoding error, I was told by the mall LTO branch to go to the LTO office where my license was registered and personally have the error corrected in the computers. (The computer in the mall branch does not have the capability to fix the error). Since I had no problem with my birthdate, I did not have to bring an NSO-certified birth certificate when I went to the LTO office, which, in my case, was San Juan. In your case, gerald, I suppose you will have to bring one. Might as well bring one or else risk having to go to the LTO office only to be told to come back with the document.
If you can live with the error, I suggest that you keep it that way. Or if you're as anal-retentive as I am, forego the mall and go straight to the appropriate LTO office with your NSO-certified birth certificate and make the necessary correction once and for all.

kaka-renew ko lang nitong monday (05 March) sa SM North Edsa.
dumating ako before 9am sa katabing clinic nung LTO office. na-release ung
medical 10:30 na yata. yung sa LTO wala pang 15 minutes tapos na.
cost:
medical: P 400.00
LTO fees: P 497.00 (with late penalty)

screw it back on and use the car again. observe very closely for signs that were not there before....
