October 28th, 2010 01:14 PM #102Salamat sa lahat ng nagpost sa thread na ito very useful and helpful.
Sa lahat ng mag-re-renew ok na din magrenew sa malls. Just make sure you go there as early as possible or during lean days para kaunti lang mga kasabay mo nagpapa-renew.
Kung kakaunti lang kayo medyo mabilis. In my case as Rob Galleria, pang-3rd or 4th ako not sure kasi yun binigay na # sa akin 3 pero sa logbook pang-4th ako, hehe. Anyway, the process was completed in more or less 1 hour.
So to summarize the tips I got from previous posters:
1. Select the most convenient LTO office or DLRC for you.
2. Check din pala if you have any pending apprehensions/violations. Make sure clear ka na sa mga fines if not masasayang ang punta mo for renewal (ok lang if the LTO office na pupuntahan mo for renewal pwede din i-process yung fines mo for the apprehension). Bring receipts/proof of payment/clearance for past violations if any, just incase. Yung nakasabay ko kasi bayad na sa LTO for his violation pero naka-flag pa din na may violation sya so hindi matapos processing ng renewal niya. (Not sure if you can drop by in advance sa LTO office or DLRC to have your license evaluated for possible pending violations/apprehensions that need to be cleared or paid for).
3. Optional: If not out of way yung place: go there early or in advance to get copies of the forms you need to fill up so ready na forms mo pag punta dun. Sayang din yung time for filling up forms, para mauna ka sa pila.
4. Drink lots of water na din pala before going sa selected day you plan to renew, para di ka mahirapan magbigay ng Urine Sample.
5. Go early. Bring cash for the Drug/Medical test and the License Renewal.
6. Groom yourself. Para sa picture taking, though malabo pa din ang mga pics na lumalabas sa license card.
7. Bring something to while away your time (just in case matagalan processing or marami na nauna sayo): newspaper, book, magazine, music player, etc. But make sure you pay attention when they call out names, at baka # or name mo na ang tinatawag.
8. There are fines for expired licenses:
- 1 year or less = Php75
- more than 1year but less than 2yr = Php150
- more than 2years = Php225
9. License renewal fee is Php 417.63
10. Drug/Med test fee is Php 400.00
11. May charge din changes to information/details. Worst case some changes will require you to go to district LTO offices or HQ, if it can't be processed sa DLRC.
12. BTW, bring your old license card or the equivalent affidavit for lost card.
13. And most importantly, when na-release na ang new Driver's license card mo, check all the details and make sure walang mali. Kung may mali report kagad so they can correct.
14. This is also to confirm the information posted in this thread: you can renew 2 months in advance of the expiration date. Na-inform din ako when I went to the DLRC in Rob Galleria.
Good luck sa mga mag-re-renew, may you have a fast, pleasant and hassle free renewal experience.Last edited by dejakenth; October 28th, 2010 at 01:35 PM. Reason: added some details ...

October 28th, 2010 01:33 PM #104Not really sure, but part of the processing kasi ng LTO for the renewal is to check if may pending cases/apprehension ang applicant - problem lang is part na ng last step ito. Not sure if you can drop by in advance to have your license checked/evaluated in advance for any apprehension.
Hopefully someone who knows will be able to post a clarification.
One other way siguro is to call up LTO.

15. The steps/process for renewal (Based on my experience at DLRC Rob Galleria, hopefully standard & the same in all LTO offices and DLRC):
A. LTOi. Go to LTO processign area for the Initial Evaluation of Applicant and issuance of LTO Application Formii. Fill up form. You may wait for the Medical to complete before you fill in your height and weight. You may fill up while waiting during the Med/Drug screening/testing.iii. Go to Laboratory for Medical/Drug screening/testB. MEDICAL/DRUG TESTi. Get Med/Drug test form (3 sheets - different forms).ii. Fill up form (all three sheets)iii. Pay to Med/Drug Lab Cashier, OR will be given, you will need this in the succeeding steps.iv. Proceed to Urine Sample collection/submission booth, present your receipt, get sample bottle, fill up urine sample bottle and submitv. Wait for your name to be called. Once called proceed to Lab's medical doctor for checkup. (Height, Weight, Blood Pressure, Vision, etc.)vi. Wait for your name to be called. Once called Biometrics will be taken (Picture and fingerprints of right hand - all fingers).w/ OR.vii. Wait for your name to be called. Lab results will be released to you
viii. Go back to LTO processing area.
C. LTOi. Submit the Lab results w/ OR and your current Driver's license to the receiving personnel of LTO.ii. Wait for your name to be called. Picture and signature will be taken. (Oops, not sure if I remember this step in the correct sequence)iii. Wait for your name to be called. Pay to cashier. (Oops, not sure if I remember this step in the correct sequence)16. Since the first step in the renewal process is for the initial evaluation of the applicant, maybe you can inquire if there are any pending issues/violations against the applicant so that you will know if you need to fix something before proceeding with the renewal process. So in case you need to go to LTO or MMDA to pay or clear up some thing you will not find out at the end part of the process. Not sure if you can ask in this step, but it won't hurt to ask. I just thought about this after one of those renewing was informed of a problem in his renewal in the last couple of steps na.iv. Wait for your name to be called. Releasing of new Driver's license (assuming no problem arises)
Good luck sa mga mag-re-renew, may you have a fast, pleasant and hassle free renewal experience.Last edited by dejakenth; October 28th, 2010 at 02:31 PM. Reason: fixed indents & added some clarifications

December 5th, 2010 10:15 PM #108Hello to all & advance Merry Christmas..i'm new here & been reading all the post & comments...find it very informative..
may queries lang po sana ako with regards sa signature sa driver's license.. nakapag change status ako at nakuha ko license ko last May 25,2010, same date...juz got married last April 2010 & i need to change my signature too but at that time na mag change status ako di ko pa gamay ang signature na nagawa ko dun sa change status ID...if ever po ba na sa renewal ko this coming January 2011 imodify ko ng kaunti ang pirma ko nung mag change status ako maquestion po kaya nila yun? Renewal naman sya at required na pipirma ulet...nadecide ko na kasi na ito na yung maging signature ko for all my legal docs... check po ba nila yung pirma sa dating ID? may nabasa kasi ako na forum din na ganito ang sabi di naman daw tinitignan pa yung dating pirma kung renewal ng ID...or inform ko pa sila about it? or may charges po ba pag nag modify ng konti sa signature?
Hope anyone here can help me clarify this matter as soon as possible...
Thank you in advance sa magbigay ng advice...
Merry Christmas & more power po sa inyo...
