yaris= euro and u.s. model......also released in australia
vios= asian model
not dissing the vios but if indeed TOYOTA releases the same yaris that's getting all the rave reviews then it might be worth a test drive.
re: small cars vs. SUVs in a collision, remember that famous LANDCRUISER and TROOPER accident at the ortigas flyover that involved the nephew of a popular folk signer? the trooper rider, i think a former USEC died in that accident. just goes to show that riding an SUV is not a guarantee that you're safe and secure. an advantage? a resounding YES! but as pointed out by a couple of posts back, could be a fasle sense of security.
safe driving guys and have a great weekend!

For the ASEAN market...
Vios: (carry over) sub-compact sedan
Yaris hatchback: all-new sub-compact hatchback
Like what I mentioned in the previous page, the Yaris they plan to release here is the ASEAN market Yaris hatchback made in Thailand, its only available with a 1.5 liter VVTi engine.
(this was posted in another Yaris thread already)
I think Toyota Motor Philippines and Toyota Thailand are still ironing out problems causing the delay of its launch.
The ASEAN Yaris is already out in other countries like Thailand and Malaysia...
I guess all we can do is wait and hope that everything pushes through.Last edited by AG4; September 18th, 2006 at 07:58 AM.
