February 9th, 2014 10:35 PM #93as i've said, the very smart engineers WHO ACTUALLY BUILT THE ENGINE have indicated the recommended PMS intervals in their manuals.
ah... no. not necessarily.
the smart engineers may have come up with something.. but someone else made and edited that manual to say this or that..

I've come across this certain Vios driven HARD by an elderly woman once, last month.
At a certain bridge I was running at 70kph when she was flashing her lights for me to move. Well, being hard-headed, I just stepped on the gas and just planned on leaving her behind. But to my surprise, she was just a shy car away from me despite my 3-digit speed. And as soon as the traffic came to a halt, I saw the elderly woman that was behind the wheel. Hehe.
I guess not all cars driven by women are driven slowly heheh and according to my friends who have had encountered her in the past, it was normal for her to drive like that. Way to go grandma!

February 10th, 2014 12:07 AM #98As I've said.. customers have all the options.. they can shop around and get the equivalent product of other brand that suits their wants.. but if the customer really want the product of toyota or hyundai or any other brand, they have to abide by the company's policies.. and if you feel that you are getting cheated by these companies, then there are legal remedies that you can pursue..
I believe companies won't change their policies or business model just to suit up what some customers want..

you still don't get it. PMS policies are ok as long as they have a BASIS! i.e. if technical manual says 10,000 then i'm not gonna argue that it should be 20,000 !!!
but if casa just sets arbitrary PMS intervals for MONEY-MAKING PURPOSES then that's a different thing!
and no, each car is unique, there are no equivalent models on another brand. SIMILAR models perhaps
anyway i can understand why you're siding with the Big Car Companies, the psychology of this has been eloborated on in the previous posts

what i mean is that the company who built the car knows it best and has indicated the recommended PMS interval in their documentation. i'm sure you get my point
don't forget that these intervals can affect the long-term reliability of their product which in turn WILL DEFINITELY impact their brand image so i'm sure they have studied this very well
Yes, EV's typically have sealed batteries. Hybrids, unfortunately, aren't typically sealed (at...
