If you've owned a Toyota, enjoyed it's bullet proof reliability, cheap maintenance and high resale value, then it's the best time to avoid buying one...
Industry analysts such as Kelley Blue Book have done research showing that Toyota sales will drop this month. The company's research shows 27 percent of new car shoppers who were considering a Toyota before the recall are no longer considering the brand. Nearly half of the buyers who have defected from Toyota say they may never contemplate the brand again.
John Krafcik, CEO of Hyundai Motor America, said Monday his company used to lose customers who had narrowed their purchase to Hyundai or Toyota, but he said people are now dropping Toyota from their shopping list.Last edited by Monseratto; February 16th, 2010 at 09:47 AM.

The defect is unacceptable pero nagtataka lang ako sa mga na-aksidente dahil sa unwanted acceleration. They always have an option to depress the brake pedal or throw the gear in neutral.

February 16th, 2010 03:22 PM #206Good afternoon to all somebody posted this in thai motoring forum, an isolated case of sudden acceleration in Bangkok, Thailand.
The Altis Driver's statement; when he puts the car in reverse the engine revved to 5,000 rpm without him touching the gas pedal thus he backed up onto the roof of the Civic behind him. Scary
