we got it as second hand, and since we dont know what type of oil she is using using right now, is it advisable to pour engine flush before changing oil?

Hope this is not late, chief for 2.5L D4D engine recommended poured-in oil is 6.9 liters (oil filter included) pero I have seen casas maxed it at even 7 liters! Careful lang po sa pagpili na gagamitin for flushing (primarily those w/c are Kerosene based-check other threads for flushing!) sold as "engine flush" or "motor flush" in the market. I've learned this from my friend's experience when he had his car oil changed and oil pan cleaned and from the advise of a trusted mechanic that "kerosene based" engine flush are extreme chemicals that can reeaaally clean daw (over clean that is-even rips the valve coating of your engine!) and/or do nothing at all and cause more harm to your engine than good (esp. old vehicles!). Hindi nga pwede patagalin ng more than 5 mins. sa engine once you use it. Imagine the site when we opened up the vehicle's oil pan and it was like the movie series Saw 1,2,3,4,5,6 all in one!!

The safest way (although slow but surely!),IMO, either you get "flushing oils" (i.e. shell flushing oil ,caltex power flush w/c are "thin oils" bt) or you can get the cheapest diesel engine oil (fr. the Big 3) use it as buffer or cleaner before you pour in the oil type/brand of your choice. You can even ask the previous owner kung anong brand ginamit nya sa beloved Innova D4D before you bought it (if it was casa maintained then that will be the usual Toyota Diesel engine oil 15W-40!)

Regarding tints, Hindi kaya kayo madiliman sir sa medium dark na full wind shield pag gabi?

I didn't have it rust proofed sa Ziebert's, free yung rust proofing ko sa Toyota Makati when we got the unit. I suggest also have it paint protected sa Big Bert's, meron sila branch sa ortigas and araneta ave. meron sila yung program na 1 year paint protection. BTW what color yung unit nyo? Hopefully you could attend our EB's

I got a bronze mica metallic. Did u get your paint proofed? What's the effect? Is it shinier?

Ya I thought so. Actually naka 4 na casa ako to look for the best deal talaga. The 1st deal I got was the best - from Toyota Marikina. Includes 3m tint pa pala yan
