August 1st, 2011 03:59 PM #561thanks for the info.. sharply on the bell curve 12-14-16.5km/ ltr for many 2kd-ftv's. Yung weight factor pala ay kaya na ng 260Nm of torque to manage with different gearing to carry it but with less acceleration.
If I may asked if how many na sa odo
tinakbo ng 1kd-ftv nang brother mo?
yung owner that has the 1kd-ftv averages about 9-10km combined pero he is not satisfied sa highway F/C (15-17km/ltr kasi sa mga LN166 mabilis na yun.. I said to him flat torque yan upto 3200rpm just drive below that ).
Medyo related sa copper mining here in Mindanao yung route niya. Cruising at 130kph and taking off to 170 knots.. 170kph lng .. pag sa mga 4 lane highway dito. Nakikipaghabulan siya sa mga navara na ang tutulin hehehe na kaya lang tapatan to 200kph ng mga LC100 with 1HD-FTE (204hp). Yung mga fortuner medyo takot dahil known to roll over pag emergency maneuver at that speed.
Iba talaga performance ng common rail. Lots of power with decent fuel economy. Kung 1KZ-TE sa mabilisan , 1KD-FTV wins with power and good fuel economy. Just watch out for the water pump me minor leaking minsan if high on the odo.

thanks for the info mukhang masaya dyan sa inyo ah yep 1kdftv nakakatungtong ng 200kph we tested it before na. even our 2kdftv reached 200kph sa test runs namin sa expressway on the way to subic at pabalik ng manila maganda kasi din kalsada sa sctex. both can hit 200kph medyo mas mabilis lang makukuha ng 1kdftv ang speed na yun as to 2kdftv na bubwelo pa ng onti hanggang magspool ang turbo.
what's very nice and surprising about toyota d4d, hindi mausok. *200kph walang itim na usok ang hilux. every 5k kms at regular mineral oil lang gamit namin. actually mas magastos pa kami kapag sa hiways kakaupak kasi he he. mas matipid dito sa city driving kasi di makahataw.

There is an Australian 4x4 Magazine comparing toe to toe Navara/Hilux.. The review was 2006 or 2007 , naremember ko Navara YD25DDTi (174/403 version 6M/T) pagcruising ng 3000rpm mas me galit ng konti yung engine when revving to above 160kph vs the Hilux. Detuned ata ng Nissan yung torque to taper off hence parang narrow yung hila na matatawag pero hp is still coming.. alalay lang sa gearbox nila na 6-speed .. tall gearing// .827 (6th gear) X 4.27 (final drive) hindi ko lang maalala at what exact speed yung 3000 rpm pero you can compute the speed at 3500-4000rpm from the figures (torque would be 350Nm-265Nm at that range) so me hila pa ng konti. At the end HILUX is still the winner. The 3.0 is still the winner in terms of overall performance. Also it managed about 10,5 l/100km for its FC combined.
medyo OT..
sabisabi lang dito, prone daw sa mechanical glitch yung tranny lalo na yung 6th gear ng navara pero they designed naman siguro to carry it to that speed. Pero its seems parang medyo totoo depende siguro sa paggamit. related eto konti sa Navara see this link about the ZD30's of the Patrols pero minor design issue pag high mileage malamang.

Yep totoo and ausies know that very well kaya landslide ang sales ng hilux sa australia comparing to ANY available truck of the similar benchmarked units.

Mga iilan sa unang batch lang ata. should be subject to a recall. And matagal na sa Japan na engineered to the rough and heavy duty usage the engine block evolved from the 1990's 3L na square configuration bore = stroke.. then the 5L overbored.. 1KZ stroked version .. D4d --> KD/2KD.
final gear (diff) ratio for 1KD is 4,3.. Sa 2KD na hilux is it the same? At what rpm is 140kph sir?
OT: sa LC100 we managed about >180kph level gradient pero malakas talaga parang accelerating lng from 140 -170 if you want to hit 200kph. mas me turbo lag pa yung spot na 80-100.
