    This is how Nissan Engine is interpreted

    ZD = Engine series code. The 'D' is common across all diesel engine codes
    30 = Engine capacity (3.0L)
    D = Double Overhead camshafts
    D = Direct Injection (as opposed to “indirect” injection as it is in the TD & RD engine series)
    T = Turbo
    i = intercooler

    For comparison, ZD30 came in with different versions..

    ZD30DDT & ZD30DDTi using VP44 Bosch Radial pumps were used by the older Patrols and Au/SA/EU D22 Navara/Phatys
    ZD30DDTi CRD 1600BAR Bosch - was made availalble on 2007, our current Y61 Pootrol is using this producing
    Hp/rpm 118/3600, Nm/rpm 354/2000, Compression Ratio 17:9:1, Bore stroke mm 93 x 102

    They are discontinuing large engines like TD42 RD28 and the likes because it failed to comply with new Euro emission standards. The reason also why the new E26 Urvan will be coming in using YD25 engine which is a Euro4 compliant.

    More or less ito rin sinabi ko sa post #6. If they are not in a hurry, just wait for the new Urvan with the Euro 4 compliant "Clean Diesel" engine than be caught with buying a van with old diesel engine that are just euro2 engines.

    Funny though.

    I have seen tour operators in Bohol use primarily the Urvan. Sa Palawan naman, mas maraming Hi-Ace naman doon.

    Having rode both, I do prefer the Urvan better than the Hiace. Mas comfortable ang ride. Napaka stiff ang ride ng Hiace and matigas ang mga upuan. Of course, that was my main concern as wala akong pake sa fuel consumption or hatak or maintenance ng mga iyan. I'm pretty sure that most operators are willing to compromise on passenger comfort just to increase their bottom line.

    same observations and same conclusion as well

    add to the experience when I commute as well, mas prefer ko urvan.

    Comfort: mas okay sakin urvan kahit sa likod ako nakaupo
    AC: mas ramdam yung sa Urvan pag nabilad sa araw but for most of the UV Express, almost all of them (hiace and urvan) add blower sa likod. The only case na mahina yung AC ng urvan is when I notice na masyado ng luma yung unit or hindi eto maintained.

    May Urvan at Commuter kami.

    Yung Urvan maganda ang suspension tsaka mura ang maintenance pero mabagal siya sagad na ang 145kph sa expressway, tested na yan dalawang urvan brineak-in ko parehas na sagad na yan.

    Bakit mas mura maintenance nito eh nissan to yung isa Toyota? We are talking about D4D engines here. Masiraan ka ng fuel injection related issue laglag 60K mo sa Commuter. Pero matibay naman yung Commuter 170K na tinakbo ng Commuter namin for 4 years ok pa rin naman. Tipid sa belt ang Commuter kasi isang mahabang belt lang para sa lahat na unlike sa Urvan tatlong belts.

    Yung Commuter naka timing belt
    Yung Urvan naka timing chain

    Yung Commuter mas malambot power steering compared sa urvan
    Yung commuter mas matigas clutch sa urvan
    yung commuter mas matigas ang kambyo sa urvan
    yung commuter de-batak yung hand brake mala FX, yung urvan sa right side mo mala kotse
    yung commuter dalawa lang speaker niyan so wala sa likod padagdagan mo na lang sa urvan apat

    Yung Commuter naman para kang bumili ng sports car hehe. Basta sobrang lakas bumatak nito mag eenjoy ka mag drive nito kapag kinanti ka ng mga Vios 1.3 try mong sumibat di aabot yun. Para kang de gasolina na kotse D4d Turbo eh.

    Hinataw ko to sa Sctex puno kami 160kph na at kaya pa pero di na kaya dibdib ko safety first. Maganda to sa zigzag kasi matigas suspension. Kapag passenger ka sa likod tapos long driving magbaon ka ng alaxan kasi sasakit ng katawan aabutin mo kasi sobrang tagtag nito para kang naka jeep. Yung dashboard naman nito maganda siya di kagaya ng sa urvan parang pang FX. hehe

    Swabe ang batak nito lalo na tumaas na ang rpm ma maririnig mo na ang sipol ng turbo. Yung sa urvan taas mo ang rpm mo at paniguradong anlakas mo sa gas. Long gearing ang commuter unlike sa urvan konting andar lang kailangan mo na ikambiyo. Sa urvan 5th gear kana pero para kang naka kwarta.

    Kaya kung ako sayo Commuter na lang sa lakas ng makina swabe to mas tipid pa sa diesel. Yung urvan papala ko lang ng 11-13km/l sa long driving. Sa Commuter more than that.
