    Hi guys,

Long time lurker here, first time to post.

Our 2006 altis a/t is getting horrible fc.
    About 6km/l
I even struggle to get to 7
    Used mostly on short drives

Last time i got almost 8km/l is when nag skyway ako balikan that was only once. The rest city drive na.

Matagal ko na napansin, marami prob yung car but im starting to have it fixed pag isa isa.
we already changed atf, fixed the oil leak found daw in the transmission.(nawala katok on low speeds)
Now i wanna fix the fc issue.

Could it be valve seals? Gaskets?
    (May history of burning oil)
    Engine sensors?

Try din palit spark plugs at airfilter.
Check din ignition coils kung malakas pa kuryente.
Check condition ng lumang spark plugs kung may signs ng black soot or oil.
Check tailpipe kung black soot ang mapahid sa fingers.

do you do manual calculation using brain and paper? or do you read the car's instrument cluster km/li ?

this is basic, but i have to mention it, justin case...
if your car has a km/li display, zero it before every determination.
if you do not zero it, the numbers you will see will be the numbers from the last time it was zeroed, to now. your good runs will be pulled down by your bad runs.

and yes. short drives usually result to poor km/li figures.

    I do manual computation.

    Just today 13 km drive.
    Almost 2 lines na agad nabawas.(maybe 1.5)
And most of the drive was just a short drive to and from emission testing place. And finding a parking space.

I didnt even once left the car on idle for aircon.
nag tiis ako sa init habang nagintay whole day dahil sa takot sa fc.Haha

Kaka change oil lang po last December, along with spark plugs

may traces of oil yung pinalitan na spark plug. Mechanic didn't say anything about it other than kelangan na palitan. But i already got a feeling something is seriously wrong with the engine nung nakita ko

one way to verify is to have a compression test.. my 3ZZ engine recently got overhauled... running fine but noticed a substantial oil loss.. no white smoke though.. upon opening, all piston rings are already worn out! bought the overhaul kit (toyota)

now engine runs smooth almost like new! acceleration is better than before..

Will do a compression test sir, but im just starting on searching for a shop that can do it near me.
Same din, car runs fine, no white smoke, but the oil loss was really noticable when it was still our daily car.

Would like to ask How much did your overhaul cost? I still have no idea on prices on both top and general overhaul for our 2006 altis.

Plan ko pa naman gamitin si altis next week for a quick batangas trip to check if fc is okay pag long drive. Im kinda scared now baka bigla sumabog engine haha
