bro answer this question...roughly how much mileage you consume for one year? if less than 20K/year then choose the gas fed don't afraid about the fc (7+km/l vs 9+km/l) or the price of gasoline to diesel...2.7 vvti and 3.0 D4d power is almost the same but vvti is quiter/less vibration giving you more comfort...for a price diff of 310T it took more than 200kms or more than 10 years of enjoying your ride to pay off that price diff and before you reach that mileage you probably looking for a new one...

    good luck to your choice...

The 3.0 has almost the same performance in power (except torque which the D-4D is better in).

    Maximum Output (Ps/rpm)
    3.0 D-4D = 163/3,400
    2.7 VVT-i = 160/5,200

The 3.0 wins in the torque by a mile:

    Maximum Torque Nm/rpm
    3.0 D-4D = 343/1,400 ~ 3,200
    2.7 VVT-i = 241/3,800

Re: fuel consumption. C! Magazine conducted a fuel consumption test and found that both the 3.0 D-4D and 2.7 VVT-i had near fuel consumption during highway runs. The 3.0 D-4D has the edge in crawling traffic.

note: the 3.0 D-4D fuel consumption might be affected by its full time use of its 4WD (4H) system. It doesn't have a 2WD only setting in its transfer case.

We just got our unit through Toyota Makati new Dark Blue Mica Metallic {mid night blue } and it's 2.7 Gas,kaya Gas na kasi easy to maintain sa Diesel ang tinipid mo ngayon baka kulang pa after warranty period kung meron masira sa D4D ng Toyota which sa haba ng threads about this engine problems mukhang walang exact or pinpointed spare parts defect or it's something on the system itself, technology should upgraded more or any rebuilding kit has to be introduced not by just resetting ECU {japanese reset power On then power Off} or other things in this engine
