Toyota fared consistently 'poor' on US IIHS Small overlap test. ‪#‎Toyota‬ ‪#‎AutoEncore‬

Models Prius, Prius V, Lexus ES350, Camry and the latest RAV4 all rated 'Poor' by IIHS on Small overlap test.

here's how the current Camry fared --> https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...type=1&theater

With illustration of how fatal the results were and how does it stack up with an Accord.

So far, only the Forester and Outlander Sport have passed the test. Subie has an advantage with the boxer engine... changes the geometry of the test by deflecting the impact sideways, as Volvo's diagonal bracing does.

It may require another model cycle for Toyota and even other manufacturers to correct this. Diagonal bracing will be difficult due to the way the engine bay is laid out.

Expect cars to get even more nose-heavy with the small overlap test in place.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Subarus are consistently 'Good' on the otherhand. Kudos to them.

duh, nasa driver naman yan eh. hehehehe... :thud: May nag post na ba ng results of the MS for this kind of test?

How long has this test been around? (sorry, too lazy to google)... In most accidents, cars are at an offset angle as the drivers are usually in the act of trying to avoid so this will play a big factor in the years to come as cars try to meet the standard for such.
