in the other thread, there is a good suggestion how to get media's attention on this problem ... toyota is apparently not doing their best to resolve the issue maybe because they believe they can get away with it

if media exposure is not enough ... a mass lawsuit is the final card ... hire the best lawyer for the job, then cross your finger because the lady favors big business ("everybody is for sale in this country" - jdv)

this is one big reason why toyota is off our shopping list ...

while driving in NLEX 3 days ago, i've seen a black innova spewing black smoke. While driving on smooth flat road and at leisurely speed, why the smoke? i was reminded of all the posts about D4D engine

peeps, exactly 3yrs na today 2.7vvti fort ko at 86,300 kms and still no problems. i'm sorry to hear that the D4D engines woes still exist. Was supposed to get the 2.5 D4D then switched to vvti upon hearing feedbacks from fellow tsikoteers. Well, baka isolated cases naman ngayon siguro. Toyota said they already solved the problem kaya siguro marami pa rin akong nakikitang D4D sa road...

^Most potential buyers don't know this thread exists! The gov't buys hundreds, if not thousands, of Hilux J. Fleet managers buy them also.

Like the proverbial urban legend, the name Toyota is always synonymous with bullet proof reliability. Toyota got to where it is now bec. of that reputation. But if they don't put any effort in correcting those miniscule but rapidly multiplying chinks on their armor then they just might end up a nobody in the future like GM, Chrysler, etc...

Haven't you noticed something? The Japan-made D4-Ds (all Hiace variants and the Land Cruiser) does not have the "choking problems" while the Thai-made D4-Ds (the IMV vehicles) have the "choking problems". So, we all can trace the choking problems to the Thailand assembly line of Toyota.
