medyo risky yang d4d especially the older models. hirap nga toyota i-figure out kung ano problema.why not settle for the gas variant instead.

With regards to accumulator fuel systems (crdi), get one that uses Bosch....If i'm not mistaken toyota uses Denso crdi systems. Bosch is by far the more experienced than denso.

During the first 1000 km check up, what the sevice engrs did was they rev up the engine to remove daw the extra carbon deposits!!! would you believe that a new innova less than 2 months old e mausok na!! i was also given a suggestion na mag long drive daw at tumakbo ng consistent na 140 kph para daw mawala. I personally don't believe this pero ganun ba talaga? after the 1000 check up nawala naman yung usok pero after 2 weeks lang and around 1400 km odometer reading e mausok nanaman!!!

I'll have our innova scheduled for service again this week and i am hoping that anyone of you can give me tips regarding this. O baka naman may nangyari na sainyo na ganito. Hope you can help me out.

    Thanks in advance!

sir.. i would suggest na mag gas variant ka na lang.. better riding comfort and less headache compared to diesel..

IMHO.. diesel's only advantage to gas variant is the fuel consumption nothing more..

    just my 2 cents..

i was so satisfied with my 2005 diesel innova since new, that i just got a 2012 unit.
i think the d4d problem is a very small minority. but the story gets told and re-told and re-told, people would think the problem is everywhere.
besides, baha-in samin. i need the diesel.

Nung nabili ko yung VVTi na innova and it is 2nd hand, gusto ko I-dispose kaagad kasi di ako sanay sa gas and yung fuel consumption medyo maninibago ka sa una kung sanay ka sa diesel.

Later napaisip ako, at same mileage na 50k VVTi vs. D4D, saan ba may mas malaking gagastusin kung magkaissue, I guess it is the D4D, new technology and of course yung issue rin sa dirty diesel natin.

Yung market face value ng D4D sa second hand market, nahatak lang sya ng market face value as a whole ng diesel variants ng ibang cars and nonD4D crdi, the truth is, kung alam lang ng 2nd hand buyer ang pwede nyang harapin sa D4D at 50k plus mileage, bibilhin nya ito ng barat.

D4D is at its best below 50k mileage, above 50k, ibenta na bago pa gumastos ng malakihan.
