pag sa engine and engine parts, bring it to ichiban. sanay sila sa mga toyota, pati old school kayang kaya nila. im sure parts wont be a problem. we had an 1983 olive green se corona before. matibay and reliable talaga. we had it for 10 years, we sold it in 93.

regarding sa restoration mo...masarap mag restore ng old school. choose the parts na i-install mo. dapat yung mag co-complement talaga dun sa car.

sa upholstery naman, bring it to coventry square. they do carpet, sidings, leather seats, etc...

    good luck!

If you ask me, go for it! Libre na naman yung auto eh. Di naman kailangan na isang bagsakan. You can do it step by step.

In my experience, mahal talaga pag daming bulok ang kaha. Pero kung wala, mga 30k oks na. Siguro another 30k for mechanical.

So I guess, follow what your heart tells you.

Register ka sa TACP (www.toyotaclubph.com), all the people there are very helpful.

Tama sila sa above, try to make a list of dapat ayusin and cost it out.

I am "restoring" a nissan sunny pickup which I did not use for at least a year...wow, grabe ang dapat i-check (see the list of woodfire)...ang kulang lang ay brake system.

Another project of mine is a toyota starlet. Pero running naman ito so not yet a priority.

Going back to your project...I would go for DIY option kung hindi ka nagmamadali. At eto ang suggestion ko.

Sa DIY, you could save a lot on the labor of repair....depende how bad the situation is, you could end up spending at least P10K and yet unhappy ka. Now if you have time naman (as in hindi ka nagmamadali).....I suggest you enrol at Meralco Foundation and take the necessary course/s (basic car maintenance, gas engine repair, underchasis)...you would probably spend the same (around P10-15K) pero it would be a very valuable knowledge gain naman (na puede mo pang pagkakaitaan in the future). Kailangan mo lang ng time (but they have classes this coming summer).

I bet after a lot of surfing too, you'll get yourself a copy of the repair manual or a shop manual ng otong iyan and thus you could put back the car in running condition in an original specs status. I'd say you'd spend at least another P5-20K for all the possible parts to change or replace or recondition the engine, brake system, drive train system and underchasis works. The good thing is puede itong utay-utay.

Finally, you can tackle the body repairs (the starlet and nissan sunny pick up I have was quoted at around P16-20K body repair lang wala pang paint). But this is full restoration project (strip to metal and everything). I am even into search for a rust converter called Por-15 or a possible hot-dipped galvanize procedure para after the body repair, i-tototal corrossion protection ko ito. I want something to serve me within the next 20years! All-in-all, I figured that I would be spending around P50K each for a very good body job on the starlet or even the sunny. Hindi yun tinago lang sa masilya.

So sa suma total....that's were your around P100K would be going to and I believe that would keep you very busy for at least a year.

    my 2 cents.

PS. I manage to "massage" my engine back to life....by spraying some WD-40 sa pistons chamber thru the spark plug opening then rotating/cranking it manually for at least 3-4 days (5mins cranking at least 2x a day). After I conditioned the carbs...it started na without problems. Pero sa iyo depende. If you have a compression tester you can check if it is still within acceptable specs.

another thing... we're planning to have our DX repainted. ano magandang kulay para don. i was thinking of a cross between blue and purple. nakakita kasi ako, parang ganun ung kulay. nagandahan ako. with black tints and supra mags. tapos JDM yung lights. medyo lowered, 1 finger fender gap. ganda tindig... tingin nyo?

what maganda kulay sa Corona SE?! anu-ano ba original color

ng '82 Corona SE ?!! i was thinking na magpa-change color eh (yung

basic shade lang sana with metalic touch).... yung Wife ko gusto nya PPG

Tri-Color (yung blue, silver, gray na shade yata yon eh :?: )

hehehehehehe :D !!! IMO. masisira yung pagka-old school nya pag yon

what suggest nyo po en baket?! :?: (i'm making a complete list kasi ng

mga gagawin don sa auto eh)

    thanks ulit guys ha?!!! 8) 8) 8)
