ang unang unang tag-line ng Corolla bigbody ay "performance in style" ang isa sa mga unang naging model nila noon ay yung partner ni Plinky Recto dati sa "its a date" yung disk jockey, forgot his name though

This is as far as i know:

1996 Corolla's were the Lea Salongas because she was the commercial model used then. If you'd notice, this was the first the time the 5spoke mags came out. Hence, these mags were also called Lea Salonga mags.


In 1997 naman, it was Martin Nievera who endorsed the corolla. If my memory serves me right, the commercial was even shot in front of Martin's house in alabang along with his 2 kids.


The 1998 and up Corollas naman were the ones called "love life" cause of all the numerous safety features that became standard in them (dual airbags, GOA blah blah, etc).


The following are the differences between the XEs and XLs thru the years:

1993 - 1995 (red - orange tailights)
XE: with radio, with clock, with 14" mags na bilog bilog und design, no rear
demister, with tach, standard gray garnish

XL: no radio, no clock, 13" rims, no rear demister, no tach, standard gray
garnish


1996 - 1997 (red - white tailights)
XE: with radio, with clock, with 14" mags na "lea salonga," with rear demister,
with tach, standard gray garnish

XL: no radio, no clock, 13" rims, no rear demister, no tach, standard gray
garnish


Note that paiba-iba din ung front grille and bumper design thru the years. Also, meron ding mga TRD edition, SE limited na lumabas pero sa Gli trim lang sya available.

Forgot to mention that amongst all the 1993 -1997 XE/XL corollas mentioned above, it was only the 96-97 XEs which had rear seatbelts.

Comments naman o...arnd 270 - 300k ang asking price. On one hand, it's a Toyota; on the other hand, kahit '97 bilhin mo, magte 10 yrs old na rin ung car. i know that the answer would vary depending on the condition of the car, pero assume natin na ung average user, with around 60-70km on the odometer

it worth buying..n keeping..
i like the car's design..basta simple lang at malinis..
kahit abutin pa ng 30 years..ok lang.
nasa pag-aalaga yan.
