Bolt-on yun.
Even other gauges like the BZ Touring, FX White/Black Face & OEM GLi/XE gauge is bolt on.
Ang hindi lang bolt-on is yung AE111 gauge na kailangan iretrofit sa ae101 kung gusto. Pero magkakasya siya.

April 17th, 2011 09:35 AM #262kamusta mga sirs, i own a corolla xe 97, bought it 2nd hand in 2008 (2nd owner ako)..maganda pa at makinis
share ko lang yung mga problema nung oto and what possible solutions you can suggest:
1. hard-starting siya pag naka park ng matagal like overnight
- nagpalinis na din ako ng carbs sa kamuning
- palit naman ako ng battery last year
- bagong tune up and timing nung january
- the problem started nung pina ayos ko dati yung power steering leak, naiwan ko sandalai sa talyer...posible kayang may pinitik o tinira na parts kaya nagka ganun? di kasi ako bihasa sa mga parts masayado
2. where can i find orig to replacement shocks? first time ko kasi magpapalit and saan maganda magpakabit? sa QC area ako cubao
maraming salamat mga sirs

1. Once you have already placed your key in the ignition, switch the key yung kung saan magsshow ang battery indicator etc. etc. sa dashboard panel. That's A/C on I think then PUMP the gas twice or even thrice then start the car.
2. If you have plans on lowering your ride, then KYB gas shocks is the way to go. If not then KYB fluid type is for you. If you're on a budget naman you can either opt for tokico, f1 or zeon shocks.

April 18th, 2011 04:33 PM #264good day sir rens
re shocks, siguro i'll opt with KYB fluid type na lang..any shop where i can buy na cheaper ang price and mechanic na magaling mag-install that you can recommend here in QC?
salamat sir sa advice!

Sir, you can try the shops in banawe. Yung reputable ha, meaning yung " mukhang maayos " just by basing sa looks ng shop.
Ichiban for example sells KYB. Yung gas type na KYB is around 2,400 EACH, expect the fluid type to be priced lesser.
Di ko lang sure if hindi pa kasama kabit ng shocks diyan sa shops sa Banawe, but I think ( pls. correct me if i'm wrong ) Servitek does replace shocks. Kasi suspension shop sila so I'm guessing na kaya nila yun. Di pa kasi ako nakakapagpalit ng shocks at maayos pa naman yung sakin. Still at 2 finger gap sa front and 3 at the rear. W/ lowering springs yun & stock shocks.

April 23rd, 2011 10:31 AM #267mga gurus, just a query.
nabaha kasi ang gli ko. 4 AFE ang engine all stock. so far, OK naman lahat, start up, acceleration, etc.
Ang tanong ko lang is:
1. ang rpm indicator seems somewhat indicating a lower rpm than the actual. mga around 500 rpm lower ang indicated niya than actual.
2. the speedometer is indicating around 20 kph lower than actual. kng tumatakbo na ako ng mga 40, ang speedomter ko just reads 20.
3. Di na gumagana ang odometer.
4. Central Power locks seems gumagana pa pero di nag lock ang driver side at isang passenger side door. Pag naka lock at buksan mo nag susi, bukas naman ang 2 functioning locks (car alarm was damaged)
5. Power windows, driver side, left ride lang ang functioning. la up-down. pasenger side, totally zero function.
Me chance pa kayang ma restore ito?

^ Yes, that just needs some minimal electric repair.
As for the problems on the speedometer, odometer and other things connected with the gauge I'd say just replace it with something " fresher ". You could also have the speedometer cables checked, baka looses lang siya or whatever.
The central alarm system, again, change it. Doesn't cost much. Only around 4k iirc.
The power windows, just buy some surplus mechanisms around banawe. It's around 700, i think

May 3rd, 2011 05:13 PM #270mga sir pa-ride sa thread.
sir Renzo, meron po ba speedometer cable ang Corolla GLi? or Speedometer sensor ang gamit for GLi? Speedometer sensor which is nakakabit sa transmission?
I have that same problem.. my speedometer reading only reaches 20km/h maski naka 60 or 100 km/h na takbo ko.
repair kit lang. car care nut says, for toyotas, he recommends entire assembly replacement for...
rack and pinion repair
