Guys mas maganda bang gamitin sa altis ang shell helix hx7 5W-40 kesa sa shell helix hx5 15W-40? Mas mahal ang hx7. Ang nababasa ko kasi sa ibang post maganda ang 15W-40.

i have always followed the owner's manual-specified oil grade. or better.
but your choice of oil seems ok...
let us hear what the knowledged say.

hx5 is a premium multigrade oil. ok for basic 5000km changes as per toyota owners manual.

hx7 is semi synthetic, better base oil and better additive package for more money of course.

but and if you plan to follow toyotas oil change intervals of 5000km or 3-5months whichever comes first then hx5 will suffice. save the money for fuel..

Ask ko din required ba talaga na magpa aircon cleaning sa 25KM pms sa toyota? kahit hindi naman nagbabago ang lamig ng aircon. Wala rin akong nakita sa manual.

At ano masasabi nyo don sa toyota air care service?

air care is just a marketting ploy for non car enthusiasts. even isuzu is introducing a similar thing in their service program. just replace your cabin air filter regularly and you're evaporator will be clean for the next few years.

in all our cars,
the only aircon maintenance i do, is to reach in and pull out the aircon's air filter if i can, and clean it, if it can be cleaned.
i bring the car to the auto aircon shop, when it refuses to cool anymore.

my 1 year old altis has some bad smell coming from the aircon when it is first turned on. I remember some of my dad's previous cars had this as well. Any way I can remove this smell? It's annoying and it seems to be getting worse.

Run the car with the recirculation and condenser turned off. Usually that happens when mold grows in the car's aircon system.

*jut- that means fan lang, no cooling, then open the air source outside right?

*stockengine- okay, my 5k pms should happen within a few weeks so I will ask the casa to replace the filter
