September 7th, 2022 01:05 PM #5433are you losing coolant?
look at the rubber gasket under the cap, and see if it is perished, i.e., cracked. replacing the cap should solve the problem. be sure the mating surfaces of your cap and your radiator neck, are clean.
another possibility is, your car is overheating and the cap is allowing some coolant to leak thru, as is its design.
is your overflow cannister losing coolant? if so, that's a sign that your engine may be overheating, even as the temperature gauge doesn't show it.
as an aside,
my old non-toyota was overheating and losing coolant.
i tried everything.
finally, it was traced to a weak fan.
replacing the fan with a new unit, solved the issue.Last edited by dr. d; September 7th, 2022 at 01:10 PM.
