Normal lang yan. Nadagdagan kasi ang may kailangan ng power kaya medyo humina ang mga ilaw sa panel board.

That is a logical DESIGN. Ang backlight kasi ng clock, kailangan bright kapag may daylight. Normally, we turn on the park lights and/or headlights when we are experiencing difficulty seeing while driving, which means, daylight is fading or gone, and it's already DARK. When it's dark, the normal brightness level of the clock is TOO BRIGHT, hence, it is dimmed for our eyes' comfort. And the best way to determine WHEN to dim it down, short of installing high-tech ambient light sensors, is to connect it to the park lights.

BTW Good News:

Starting today ay available na sa local dealers ang 2009 Avanza with minor updates sa exterior at interior(better seat quality na may height adjuster na at gated na shifter ng A/T variant!!) Same price as the old one!!

And from what I've seen, the prices rose by more or less 10,000 pesos. The J variant is now priced at 600,000, up from 592,000.

Care to enlighten us, sir?

Correct its normal (talaga sinadya yan) kasi kung hindi mag di-dim ang LCD clock nakakasilaw yan sa gabi. Kung naman dim lit sya di mo makikita during bright shiny day.

Btw ang gauges ng fortuner eh optitronic... during day maliwanag sya, once you turn on the park/head lights mag di-dim na otherwise kasi nakakasilaw sya. Kasi pag nagpatay ako ng park/head lights sa gabi masyado maliwanag yung gauges nakakasilaw.

Hi Guys, haven't visited this thread since after I got my vanzy before christmas. Di parin ako nakakabackread.

Some stories I'd like to share pagkakuha ko sa kanya, comment na lang po kayo:

1. Mahirap ipasok sa 5th gear/reverse

2. Toyota Commonwealth charged me 2,100+ for my 1K PMS (change oil filter, 4L ordinary oil). SA wanted to charge me 3,100 pesos para sa fully synthetic... I knew it was a ripoff[?] but I was in a rush kaya pumayag na ko.

3. Dec 18 ko nakuha, January 23, still no plates.

4. Is it just me or me mali sa design ng side mirror? Parang objects are closer than they appear on both sides and ang hirap tanchahin ng sukat lalo na for parking.

5. Partly because of this side mirror problem I scratched the side of my vanzy on a wall after avoiding a pedestrian. This should be covered by comprehensive insurance right?

1. Mahirap ipasok sa 5th gear/reverse

I think marami na ang naka-experience nito. Ipa-adjust mo na lang iyung synchronizer (yata). In the meantime, when shifting to those gears, try mo muna ipasok sa ibang gear w/o letting go of the clutch pedal, then immediately ipasok mo na sa gusto mong gear.

2100 is too expensive for mineral oil and oil filter, i think.

Ganyan talaga iyan. May mga side mirrors nga na may sticker na puti ang font na nagsasabing "Objects are closer than they appear chu-chu"...

Ouch! Pero covered iyan, of course.

wala bang yupi?? paint lang?? kung paint lang retouch lang yan.. wag mo na ipasok sa insurance.. baka kaya na yan sa retouch sa casa.. 1T lang yun.. pero kung may yupi.. di ko alam pano procedure nila dyan.. baka pukpukin.. pa estimate mo sa casa.

Got 09 j model last december. I don't like the rims. Confirm ko lang kung ganito talaga ka simple ang rims.

May I then ask if anyone here still has the old 1.3 j model (08) rims for sale. How much? (I do not want mags yet because I prefer stock).

PMs for 1k is only 1,200 plus 300++ for side mouldings installation-labor.

eto sir hubcaps ng vanzy, para sa mga wala pang budget for mags, dito muna tayo =)

baliko yung gilid eh saka ung bottom part ng chassis. hirap tiisin, wala pa kong time ipasok for repairs.

can i bring this to another dealership for repairs/insurance claims? gusto ko ung commonwealth kasi maluwag ung waiting area saka malapit saken, pero naasar ako dun sa singil sa PMS. any suggestions?
