I also strongly agree to IMM29 that oil needs to be changed every 5000kms

by the way what particular brand of oil are you guys using? kasi i had used semi synthetic (shell) di jkasi maganda hard starting eh taas ng rpm agad!

also am suing all original casa oil filter.

just a quick question, suppose ung gear natin nasa 5th or 4th gear, when decreasing the speed, do u normally shift down one gear at a time? or let's say, from 4th gear, derecho 2nd gear?

what's the best practice? kc ako i usually shift down one gear at a (5th to 4th, 4th to 3rd, 3rd to 2nd).

Have you ever observed a multi-speed bike (5-speed, 6-speed, 18-speed, 21-speed, etc...)? Have you ever used one? Para ka ring nagmamaneho ng kotse. Habang lumalaki yung gear na gamit sa likurang gulong, mas madaling ipadyak ang bike. Ito yung equivalent ng gear natin sa transmission ng kotse.

(Yung gear naman sa may pedals, habang lumalaki, mas humihirap ang pagpadyak. Sa Avanza natin, walang direct equivalent ito.)

I'm not sure kung nakasaad sa manual ng Avanza ang speed ranges na kaya ng bawat gear katulad ng ibang car manuals na nakita ko na. Pero generally, ang minimum speed sa bawat gear lang ang tinatandaan... although in my case, sa tagal ko nang nagmamaneho, tinatantiya ko na lang... kapag sanay ka na kasi, ang sasakyan ay parang extension na lang ng katawan, e. "I just know(knew)," sabi nga ni Pistol Pete Maravich... parang natural na lang...

Ngayon, balik sa tanong mo... sa pag-slow down, usually dapat ilagay mo sa neutral kasabay ng preno, lalo na kung medyo mabilis dapat ang pagbagal mo (kapag biglang bumagal/nagpreno ang nasa harap ng sasakyan mo), tapos ilagay mo sa tamang gear kapag pwede nang bilisan ang takbo.

Kapag super-bilis ng mga pangyayari, at kailangan mo ng tulong sa pagtigil na sa tantya mo ay di kaya ng pagpreno lang, tutulungan ka ng tinatawag na "engine brake" -- ito ang pagkambyo nang mas mababa sa kasalukuyang naka-engage na gear (e.g., naka-5 ka, preno ka sabay kambyo sa 4th o 3rd, depend sa speed range ng gear).

Sa VIOS G A/T owner's guide: 92kph ang maximum sa segunda ("2" position), at 46kph naman sa primera ("L" position).

Pag malamig pa ang makina, di pa ito efficient. Pag na reach na ang optimal temp, bababa na ang RPM.

where do you service your avanza?? is this still under warranty?? Coz the CASA told me that they don't let owners use any ordinary oil, for warranty purposes..

Regarding insurance, In-house insurance (Standard) na ng Toyota ang kinuha ko kasi in-offeran ako ng SA ko ng mababa, lower compared sa banko. Plus, sabi nya mas madali daw mag-claim kung in-house. 3 installments pa ang ibinigay sa akin, plus isinama na rin ang 'Acts of God', kaya OK na din.

One day lang ang approval sa bank. Then nag-P.O. na ang bangko sa Toyota. Medyo natagalan lang i-release yung unit kasi walang available na Metalic Blue that time, naghintay ako ng > 1 week, then nagdecide na kunin na lang ang Champagne color na available sa branch (anyway ito naman ang 1st choice ko). In two weeks, na-deliver na sa house namin yung unit.

Thanks for your advice,regarding sa insurance dun na rin ba kayo kumuha or pwedeng sa labas na lang.Sa case nyo madali ba ang approval at na release na agad ang unit?4 weeks lang kasi ako dyan satin then balik na naman akong abroad.Thanks again and more power to avanza club!

Wala sa number of posts. Sina jedi at doc tsikot ang puwedeng gawin ang isang tsikoteer to moderator. Sina liv, ooba, and thepatriot parang less than 1,000 ang mga post nila each pero kasabay ko na na upgrade to moderator.

BTW, moderator lang ako ng Avanza Club sub-forum. Si liv sa Innova, sina ooba and thepatriod sa strada and mitsu.

BTW, do not use oil addditives. Mas nakakasma ito than nakakatulong.

In my experience a regular change oil every 5K of mineral oil is better than having a fully synthetic every 10K.

I had a 96 Lancer itlog religiously getting mineral oil every 5K and still performs smoothly, the last time I opened the cylinder head cover there was no sign of sludge and grime residue.

The truth is, when we got our units from the dealership, it came with mineral oil and not fully synthetic, evidently our units are factory tested using mineral oil

It will be your choice now who to follow?

Use mineral oil as standard oil for your car set by the car manufacturer or follow those oil companies to use synthetic oil and have a prolong change oil interval to offset the cost they are raking from your pocket.

mayroon lang po sana akong imumungkahi para sa club website kung ok lang sa lahat na magkaroon sana tayo ng additional list of highly recommended suppliers and services para sa rides natin base sa mga recommendation ng mga members din po natin. for example, seat cover - name of Shop - price tag - recommended by (name). easy references kung baga kaya lang additional job ito para sa webmaster po natin. ito ay suggestion lang po para din sa lahat.
