just got back from our trip to Batangas and Laguna.. naka almost 900kms na ako.. magpapa sched na ako nang 1K PMS sa Nov. 10 siguro..

tumawag din yung SA ko sa Shaw nung weds.. nandon na daw yung plaka.. 2 weeks lang inabot.. kunin ko bukas (saturday), sarado daw kasi sila ngayon.. ZWK 3*3 daw ang plate ko..

yung trip meter sa Avanza G.. eh digital.. with Trip A and Trip B.

I noticed something here sa start ng thread which was started by Qwerty.
The stop lights were changed to a more appealing look compared to the old one but the trip meter is already digital. How come our new avanzas is still sporting the old conventional meter??

Hope you can share your experience with your ride since I think you are the most senior here in terms of driving an avanza. how was the performance since 2004 ka pa nagda-drive nito? I notice a Daihatsu emblem on the black car. Is it the Xenia, the avanza's twin sister?

yeah you were right my friend, the black one is my dad's, its basically copy cat of avanza, with the same engine and its 1.3L, yung difference lang sakanila dalawa is the emblems and interior. Yung daihatsu xenia wala syang airbags and extra blower sa aircon, and it comes in 1.0 engine aswell. We are using the 1.3avanza and 1.3xenia, honestly i cant feel any difference w/ the engine but regarding the comfort goes to avanza.

Yung first xenia namin hindi pa sya vvt-i ang engine whichis idont really understand yet the difference pero the new xenia and avanza now are vvt-i.

Toyota Motor Philippines Corp. expects sales growth to slow down this year on lack of consumer confidence in the market brought about by the political noise, higher value added tax (VAT) and the continued influx of used car imports.

TMPC marketing manager and first vice president Daniel Isla said this year's full-year sales is projected to inch up 5 percent from a 30 percent year-on-year growth in 2005.

He said Toyota sales this year are likely to hit 38,000 units from 35,000 units in 2005.

Isla said consumers were likely to hold off purchases of big-ticket items like vehicles given the unstable political situation.

Perceptions that the prices of vehicles will also go up with the increase in the VAT from 10 percent to 12 percent are also seen weighing down sales even as industry simulations showed the impact of the higher sales tax on the prices of vehicles would be minimal at 2 percent.

The escalating cost of fuel and the entry of cheaper second-hand imported vehicles will also keep auto buyers at bay.

The Japanese car maker is the biggest in the local industry, holding on to the top spot in terms of unit sales for several years now.

Sustained marketing and promotional gimmicks have helped prop up the sales of new cars in the country over the past few months.

Isla said the growth in this year's sales would be driven by its lineup.

Innova, one of the car maker's models under the international innovative multipurpose vehicle (IMV) line, will continue to be the driving force behind Toyota's sales growth this year.

He said Innova has been averaging sales of 1,000 units a month.

Vios, the company's sub-compact passenger car, is averaging 800 units while Altis is selling 350 units a month.

Fortuner, another model in the IMV line, is selling 500 units while 70 units of the luxury passenger car Camry are being sold each month.

Isla also said the company would launch the Avanza 1.3-liter minivan in the last quarter of 2006 for the taxi and fleet accounts and first-time buyers.

Toyota Avanza comes with high-power, high-performance and highly fuel-efficient engine and a suspension system that offers a comfortable ride and stable handling. It can accommodate five to seven passengers.

The Avanza, which will be imported from Thailand as completely built unit, will have three varieties, one with manual transmission and the rest in automatic mode.

The Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers and Assemblers of the Philippines Inc. earlier projected full-year sales to grow by 5 percent this year.

What I mean aboutthe stop light is the tail light, which is entirely different to what we've got.
Now I can see clearly some of the difference of the avanza in some other countries compared to ours here in the Philippines.

Anyway Iam planning to buy spoiler from indonesia and some other stuff pero gusto ko lang mlmn sa mga expert natin dito kung mas ok ba price sa manila for accessories or should i just buy from indonesia.

Meron din ako yung unang labas ng video ipod, pero 30 gig lang. Saan mo nabili yung holder mo? Ok ba yung sound quality transmitting sa HU mo?

Naghahanap din ako ng something like this na meron ng built-in transmitter for my psp slim.

Nice rims on the silver Avanza. Are they 17"? What is the aspect ratio of the tires, 40? Im very interested since im planning to buy a 17" rims for my avanza. I saw another pic having an 18" but with 30 aspect ratio. Did you have any issues with steering or handling with those rims?

Good thing that there is already an aftermarket power window motor in Indonesia. Hope it will also be sold here in the Philippines. Do you happen to know how much are the door trims? Since, if you need to install a power window, you need to have a new trims with those power window switches.
