Good morning po. This is my first time to post here = ). Magpapalit po kasi ako ng gulong sa diesel Revo ko, tanong ko lang po kung ano ang magandang model na ipalit ko based on your experiences. I will stick with the stock specs kasi I am satisfied na with the ride. Yung size niya is 19570R14. I tried to search the threads for a similar topic pero iba yung size noong tires na pinag-usapan and mostly wala doon yung mga models na available para sa size na ito. Safety would be my primary concern (kasama na po dito yung durability plus yung grip niya in both dry and wet road conditions), second would be ride comfort (minimize tagtag), and third would be thread life (kahit man lang sana umabot ng 50,000 km pero mas okay kung mas malayo). May nag-offer sa akin ng Good Year Ducaro na 6-ply and 95 yung load rating. Do I really need a 6-ply tire? Bago kasing design kaya lang I've had less than satisfying experiences with locally made Good Year's before.

BTW, for city driving lang po ito with occasional out-of-town and yung kadalasang kalaban ng gulong ko ay yung mga "mini-humps" sa Edsa. = )

    Salamat po in advance!

    Hi jonvic, welcome! :D

    First let's list your concerns:
    1. Safety (durability and road grip)
    2. Comfort
    3. Tread life (50,000kms. or more)

You have the option to choose what tire category that fits you most, either passenger tire (PT) or light truck duties (LT). PT does offer much better comfort and grip than LT, but pertaining to your concern #1, LT does have its advantage with durablity for loading occassions.

Sad to say, there are limited brands to choose from if you opt for LT tires with 195/70R14 size. Either your stuck with an OE brand again, or choose from a couple of other brands that have the size that you want.

Choosing PT on the other hand increases your range a bit more, since more sedans used the same size as with your current ride. But it doesn't have the higher sidewall ply rating that you require. Either 2 or 4 plies at the most. Which will limit your loading capacity, unless overflated a bit more than usual (~6psi).

You can also refer to an old thread:
    - best tire for AUV

Or you can also try and gauge some tires. Check how their ratings stand here:

Here's the tire in my dad's revo 2000 gl diesel..

size is 205/75R14, brand is courser.. di ako alam ibang rating..

hindi pa upod yung tire nung nagpalit, lagpas 3years/55km bago nasira at nagpalit ng 2 front tires.. napako kasi..

this year (around 65T km) palit ng 2 rear tire dahil na-oblong isa at yung isa eh natanggal yung outer rubber, para bang tanggal yung recap niya pero di naman na-flat..

ride comfort is much better than the original stock tire..

road handling? hmm..hirap i-gauge, i don't do sudden left to right at high speed and will not try a fast corner turn..

sa ngayon, courser pa rin gamit .. and i think you need to replace this brand of tire after 3 years/60T Kms pudpod or not...

Maraming salamat po sir Ungas, for the valuable information! :D

    sir revoGSX,
Also, compared to the ride of the stock revo before, wala bang major difference? Like yung primary concern ko yung stability sa higher speeds plus yung handling niya. Also magkano ba yung Courser and saan ba ito made and saan ba nakakabili nito, if ever?

Pasensiya na medyo marami akong tanong. Interested din kasi ako sa ganitong set-up.

Thanks for sharing this as well! :D

If you dont really load up heavily then you wouldnt need to consider the higher load-rating tires. Right now we're running passenger tires on our Crosswind (215/65R15 Dunlop LM702's) but i do keep track of the air pressure (we keep it at 34-35psi usually).

The stock 14" tires of the Revo was a PT if i remember right (185/70R14s or something, like that) which were undersized. Ideal on the 14" would be 195 or 205 70's.

Do some searching around in the shops. Try to stick to the mainstream brands like Bridgestone, Dunlop, etc... Taking a look at the threadwear rating also helps (280-300 rating would be a resonable one) Driving style and alignment of your wheels will affect your tire lifespan as well.

If you want more stability, then looking around for a used set of OEM 15" tires for the Revo would also help.

Thanks sir vinj :D My current tires (stock) are 195/70R14 so I guess I could stick to this or upgrade to a 205 as another option. Regarding, the 15" rims, I think I would have to put this as part of a future project as I don't have the budget for this at this point.

I have already asked around for the 195/70R14 and I am leaning on the Bridgestone B700 if I am going to stick to my stock size. Is this a good tire based on those who had experiences with this before?

I will also ask around for 205's to broaden my options.

Thanks again for all your helpful responses. :D
