yes we did get the "1kz engine". its certainly alot more powerful than the 2.0FX na engine. pero certainly mas madaling bumaba ang fuel level ha ha.

January 15th, 2007 07:28 PM #23are you buying it inside subic or outside?
auto free-hub yan.
2L and 1kz parts available
troubles ng hilux surf: always the cylinder head and radiator
check the rpm of the unit while shifting kapag lampas 3k rpm, needs adjustments
buit it runs good, ang hindi ko lang gusto yung position ng driver on the seats, nakahiga, not like a regular suv, parang upright sitting position, easier to go in and out of the unit

most a/t are not controlled by ECU alone. it's a combination of ECU and some vacuum, rpm, gas pedal level or a/t mechanical pressure sensor and etc..
I am not sure about 3rd generation hilux surf. but the older one uses the kickdown cable system. if this 3rd gen still has it. loosen the kickdown cable. the cable is usually wrapped in orange rubber. it's a 2nd cable from the accelerator cable. don't loosen it too much though... it will wear&tear the a/t much sooner.
notice ko yan sa majority of older hilux surf, you get a super kick even hitting so little gas, but the revv is too high if you speed up. kaya our remedy is loosen the kickdown cable.

Yung 4wd we only used it on muddy situation especially sa farm namin sa majayjay dun gamit na gamit mapa 4h 0 4L but not on pave roads kahit maulan never namin ginamit.
