The Corolla is not RWD so it can't have a rear live axle. It does have a torsion beam suspension in the rear.

I just remembered my sister's Altis. Driving feel is dead, suspension feels very stiff in a cheap way, 1.6L engine very weak, interior quality very bad. BUT, still a decent car overall cuz its a Toyota (good resale value) and it gives you an assurance that you will get from point A to B without problems.

I wonder how the new Corolla will fare especially since the competition has really upped their game alot.

I think this needs to be merged with this thread: http://tsikot.yehey.com/forums/showthread.php?t=48250

Also mukhang binalik ata yung 1.8V variant? Parang matagal nawala ito eh.

actually, stop production na sir ang 1.8V, all we have now is the 1.6 and the 2.0 variants

Ah ok. Akala ko yung tatanggalin was the 1.6 variant para tapatan na sa Civc eh.

Baka mali yung nakita kong pricelist at di na updated

Endangered species na yan sir. Since early 2009 wala nang bagong 1.8V to give way to the 2.0V.

About the 1.8 battling it out with Honda, it's unlikely because mawawala yung price advantage ng Toyota sa Honda if they try doing that kasi considerably mas mahal yung 1ZZ-FE sa 3ZZ-FE.

-From Mike Tejero, Toyota Makati originally posted in Top Gear Philippines.

Engines are carryover units, now with the correct power figures.
    132PS for the 1.8 and 109PS for the 1.6.
I guess we can expect advertisements to pop out soon.
